QUOTE(nick67 @ Dec 5 2011, 02:32 PM) What do you mean by stuck? I don't have degree qualification as I took CAT..Now I'm 21 but still doing f7-f9..Many of my friends had graduated last sem. I'm really scared of getting stuck in this course If you are doing repeated papers, get a job to ease your financial strain and stress. You dont need a lot of time to do repeated papers; do some updates and find out where you did badly.

QUOTE(nick67 @ Dec 5 2011, 02:55 PM) I wanted to get a job next year but so many people suggested me not to..My lecturers, my seniors and my peers who are working while studying part time. If touchwood unable to graduate from acca..What's the next sensible choice? Change course or just work with a lowly CAT/OBU? Doing one/two papers at a time now is not as difficult as made out to be. Previously, during the professional stages, its passes in ALL 4 papers at the same time for each level and yet quite a number of ppl did it.

For those of you who are in the initial stages of the ACCA program and finding it difficult to get thru the F stage, its better to enrol at MMU and get it through a degree and called yourself an "Accountant". You can then opt for your pro ACCA or CIMA after that.

QUOTE(nick67 @ Dec 6 2011, 11:54 AM) If I'm not wrong ACCA is recognized in Australia. Just that preference will be given to CPA graduates. Are you currently working? Why MMU? MMU degree is equivalent to all accounting degrees of IPTAs and DIRECTLY recognised by MIA. No need for professional exams. Once admitted into MIA, you are a recognised Accountant, call yourself an Accountant, look for Accountant posts and start your climb up the corporate ladder! You can start your own Audit/Accountant firm also. (Of course, passing the interview)

QUOTE(YH90 @ Dec 6 2011, 09:00 PM) MMU degree takes 4 years to complete, the same with other IPTA's out there. In addition to foundation, it takes a total 5 years to complete compared to a normal 4 years at IPTS. And if you plan to pass ACCA in that extra 1 year saved, it's practically the same. But you do get to boast saying you have a professional qualification compared to the other IPTA students out there. I believe the problem in working overseas is not the qualification, but working experience especially in that particular country. If I am correct, MMU accounting degree is the ONLY IPTS that its graduate gets direct entry into MIA. Others will have to go thru professional exams like CPA Australia, ACCA, CIMA etc.

If its true, thanks for the info. Added on December 7, 2011, 11:03 amQUOTE(YH90 @ Dec 7 2011, 10:17 AM) In addition to notmycupoftea's comment, I heard UTAR's degree also qualifies (the 4 year degree program). This would be a pleasant surprise. Since when? This post has been edited by cckkpr: Dec 7 2011, 11:03 AM
