^^ Thank you, @nothingz.
I guess it's not worthwhile pursuing another qualification to add to one's credentials when that person can also act as company secretary with MIA.

PER is all that matters for now.

Added on August 23, 2011, 1:52 pmOn a side note, is there any fast track entry route for CIMA/ICAEW/CPA AUSTRALIA for ACCA-ers?

From CPA Australia website:

QUOTE
If you are a full member of the MIA, you may be eligible for Associate membership if you:

    * are a member of good standing and not under any investigation into professional conduct
    * are not a member of the MIA by virtue of any other mutual recognition agreement
    * hold a degree accredited by CPA Australia
      or
    * hold a degree recognised by the Australian Government National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR) as being equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree. CPA Australia will need to assess the degree to determine CPA Australia's core competency requirements equivalent to an Australian degree.
If this is the case, ACCA members don't quality for CPA Aust. Associate membership because we're MIA members by way of Mutual Recognition Agreement. Is that right?

This is kind of urgent, hope anyone who has information on this can help me out here. Thank you.

Does anyone know whether ACCA Singapore convocation accepts Malaysian affiliates to attend the ceremony?

As ACCA Malaysia doesn't organise any graduation ceremony, I'm keen on attending the Singapore one. I've emailed the lady in charge for details, but have yet to receive a reply.

The deadline for registration of the graduation ceremony organised by Malaysian Approved Learning Partners is this Saturday.

So, I need to know whether ACCA Singapore convocation accepts Malaysian or not. If not, I have to register for the ALP one asap.

Thank you ya'll for your help.

Hi...why dont you give a call to ACCA Singapore and speak directly to them. U save the time and the trouble and a little extra for the call! Let us know the outcome if you do try. Congrats of being an Affiliate!
Thank you.
Yeap, I've called them already. The lady's on leave this week. The nice lady I spoke on the phone is not clear on the convo details. Hopefully they accept Malaysians.
I don't get why ACCA Malaysia stops organising convocation. I attended one back in 2009.

If u dont mind me asking you this - why arent you keen to attend the one organised by the ALP here? I was under the impression that all this while ACCA affiliates attended their graduation conducted by this ALP.

Now,im surprised to know from you that ACCA Singapore conducting graduation but not ACCA Malaysia. Did u call ACCA Malaysia to find out the reason?

Because I do not want to endure another 4-hour trip, 8-hour return journey on the bus to KL when I'm 30 minutes away from Spore.
