Hi - i presume your are an Australian degree holder - that is why you are doing CPA. From my experience, Aussie degree holders can get complete exemption and just attempt the professional level, P1 to P7 (5 papers, 3 core and 2 optionals). This may be ACCA's marketing gimmick to pull business from CPA...since CPA has the largest student body in Malaysia now.....hehehe....
However, just to caution you, there is a big, big gap (emphasis added) between an Australian degree versus ACCA. A lot of your time will be spend to fill the knowledge gap rather than to study the paper itself.....it is really frustrating.....
ACCA is set at UK Masters level...and can be hard to pass especially if you are working full time and without proper tutor support...you can opt to do email correspondence course with FTC Kaplan .....
Unlike CPA, ACCA is definitely NOT open book and NOT MCQ...the only thing to bring in to the exam hall is a calculator and black ink pen and obviously..... lady LUCK herself.....
I got friends who in their whole life never go to temple to pray before... but end up very religious the day before P2 and P4....go to temple to pray and eat vegetable whole day.... some look at 4-ekor number in newspaper to spot topics.....some go to fortune teller to predict what topics are coming up in the exam... what to do??? fail too many times liaw.... need some divine help.....
If i am in your shoes, i will stick around with CPA.... MCQ... if dunno answer, at least can tembak....who knows, can tembak the right answer.....since multiple choice.....
ACCA,,,,,if dunno answer.....NOTHING to tembak.... just blank paper submission liaw..... but can try to write on the answer script ........a love letter to the examiner to minta markah kesian....hehehe
using RM5/pound...
