Hi, guys.

After failing CPA 3 times, decided to take ACCA next year.

I wanna ask that whether I should register now, or next year January so I can sit for the June 2012 level 3 test?

Also need to let them know I'm degree graduate for the exemption, right?

Thanks.

You should check whether you can claim exemption with your degree right now.... Registering now or later doesn't make any difference since you can only really register for exams after results are out in February.

You mean June 2012 P level exams is it?

And no offense, but ACCA is supposed to be more difficult than CPA. Maybe you should find out why you are failing CCPA exams rather than taking a whole different course.

Erm, i dunno but CPA most marks are allocated at MCQ which I don't really like it at all since i prefer on writing.

the marks always like 60 MCQ, 20 Writing. I only scored on writing part and MCQ always failed doh.gif

So if i wanna join ACCA and the test on June 2012, i can register at anytime? But the paper only can register next year February ?
Thanks.

now u can register anytime

but u have to pay all exemptions fee which should be very huge for ur 1st payment to acca

acca exam althou is ur favorite writing method..but the time pressure is huge

i can always see ppl complain every where

so u better buckle up and dun regret after u joined ACCA

btw..may I ask how many papers left for ur CPA?

if u're granted full exemptions...u will need to take 5 ACCA papers

Lol .. i had no passed any paper of CPA yet sweat.gif

So I can just register through Accaglobal.com or better find some place like Sunway for help?

And you mentioned exemptions fee? May I know how that work?

u can self register thru the website

and send the document needed to them

or register with a tuition provider and let them handle everything for u

or register urself then go to tuition provider that u intend to study with

ask them send the documents for u
as for exemptions fee right

it's basically is the exam fee (if not mistaken) for every paper that u're exempted

so lets say u got full exemption

then u will have to pay around GBP80 x 9 x 5 with the registration fee to ACCA

My friend said that after passing the degree level, i can go for level 3.

So currently I'm Bachelor Degree of Accounting and Finance.

So the exempt would be ?

Hi - i presume your are an Australian degree holder - that is why you are doing CPA. From my experience, Aussie degree holders can get complete exemption and just attempt the professional level, P1 to P7 (5 papers, 3 core and 2 optionals). This may be ACCA's marketing gimmick to pull business from CPA...since CPA has the largest student body in Malaysia now.....hehehe....

However, just to caution you, there is a big, big gap (emphasis added) between an Australian degree versus ACCA. A lot of your time will be spend to fill the knowledge gap rather than to study the paper itself.....it is really frustrating.....

ACCA is set at UK Masters level...and can be hard to pass especially if you are working full time and without proper tutor support...you can opt to do email correspondence course with FTC Kaplan .....

Unlike CPA, ACCA is definitely NOT open book and NOT MCQ...the only thing to bring in to the exam hall is a calculator and black ink pen and obviously..... lady LUCK herself.....

I got friends who in their whole life never go to temple to pray before... but end up very religious the day before P2 and P4....go to temple to pray and eat vegetable whole day.... some look at 4-ekor number in newspaper to spot topics.....some go to fortune teller to predict what topics are coming up in the exam... what to do??? fail too many times liaw.... need some divine help.....

If i am in your shoes, i will stick around with CPA.... MCQ... if dunno answer, at least can tembak....who knows, can tembak the right answer.....since multiple choice.....

ACCA,,,,,if dunno answer.....NOTHING to tembak.... just blank paper submission liaw..... but can try to write on the answer script ........a love letter to the examiner to minta markah kesian....hehehe

Complete exemption means still need pay the fee right?

Total: RM2,895 sweat.gif using RM5/pound... rclxub.gif
