I've been a disaster in ACCA for some time. I'm planning to quit after the current exams. If I still don't pass, I will opt to drop from the course. I'm already 24 this year. I shouldn't be wasting my time with failures. However, I'm thinking of joining CIMA since my exemptions for CIMA are still "active", should I give it a go or should I stick to ACCA?

24 is still young. Why don't you consider taking a bach degree? it'a a lot easier. I have seen people failed ACCA numerous times then gave up and took a degree course. They're now are as successful as other professional people.

Well, that's what the CIMA brochure at my Diploma college said. Are you serious? ACCA is not recognized in Australia? Why the heck are my relatives getting excited?  doh.gif

I wish I could go for CPA, but I only have a Diploma. You need a degree to enter into CPA.  sweat.gif
Look at the analysis and look what came out for the exams. Those who relied on the analysis will try to spot the questions.  laugh.gif

That is why I'll never trust the past paper analysis.  tongue.gif

ACCA is recognised in Australia. Always look at the Australian immigration policy, then you will know.

read wikipedia, you still need to pass certain exams in Australia to practise there

Sometimes people get the wrong interpretation from Wikipedia. Wikipedia says A but we think that it's B.

Accounting profession is not regulated in Aust. Anyone can become an accountant, trust me. The question of to practice or cannot practice is totally out.

However most employers still prefer you to be professionally qualified even though you're qualified from other non australian bodies. Local working experience walk the talk & NOT where you're qualified from.

My advice...I think you guys shouldn't discuss the exam anymore AFTER the exam is over. What is over is over, you can't change the answers anymore. Just take it steady, relax & enjoy before the results are out.

it's just a doctored picture taken from other website or just a model hired by Sunway to attract all the buayas like you & me. On the other hand I have seen quite a lot of Sunway chics dress up like a model....Sunway has become an icon for fashion show overtaking Milan & Paris. At the end who benefits?...those buayas like you & me lar.

you can give P7 a second chance before jumping ship to P6, you can't compare yourself with those 80% since you don't have the basic, F6. somemore P7 has advantage of easier to obtain audit licence in the future
no doubt that Q1 is quite tricky since Lisa started to use the reply letter format, you don't know how many marks are allocated for each requirement, in other words you don't know how much to write for each requirement and this will lead to overspending of time on that question.  time management is also and important issue in all papers, once you spent too much time on 1 question, those at the back you don't have enough time to give a proper answer

for f6 & p6, what's the difference between UK & Malaysian variant?
Which one do majority of students opt for, uk or msia variant?
Which one is more difficult?

Malaysia and UK tax are totally different, therefore the questions and answers will be totally different. we study acca, can opt for local variant while those study ICAEW are compulsory taking UK tax since they don't have a choice. you take UK tax if you want to go UK work but with the current economy condition, UK employers are more keen to hire locals

Thanks.
Which one has a wider syllabus coverage? uk or msia variant?
I am asking this coz one of my junior is thinking of either doing acca or micpa.
