^^ Thank you, @nothingz.
I guess it's not worthwhile pursuing another qualification to add to one's credentials when that person can also act as company secretary with MIA. PER is all that matters for now. Added on August 23, 2011, 1:52 pmOn a side note, is there any fast track entry route for CIMA/ICAEW/CPA AUSTRALIA for ACCA-ers? This post has been edited by amber88: Aug 23 2011, 02:16 PM |

From CPA Australia website:
QUOTE If you are a full member of the MIA, you may be eligible for Associate membership if you: If this is the case, ACCA members don't quality for CPA Aust. Associate membership because we're MIA members by way of Mutual Recognition Agreement. Is that right?* are a member of good standing and not under any investigation into professional conduct * are not a member of the MIA by virtue of any other mutual recognition agreement * hold a degree accredited by CPA Australia or * hold a degree recognised by the Australian Government National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR) as being equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree. CPA Australia will need to assess the degree to determine CPA Australia's core competency requirements equivalent to an Australian degree. |

i am also not very sure on that area, it's better that you consult those ACCA members. or else you get enrolled with ACCA Platinum or Gold Employer then you can get the ACCA membership easily after completed 3 years of working experience

QUOTE(ianlee @ Aug 23 2011, 03:07 PM) sorry to say, you can't get OBU anymore since you passed F7 before F4. F4 needs a lot of understanding even though you can memorise it. F9 syllabus is quite wide, if those areas that you are weak come out, then too bad. F8 is no doubt the killer, if you are well prepared then shouldn't be any problem |

QUOTE(nothingz @ Aug 23 2011, 09:22 AM) For P1, maybe you don't have sufficient understanding on those risks, ethics and governance principles. seriously there are a lot of principles/theories to study, you don't know which one will come out. i would say that P1 is easy to study but not easy to pass, it will appear easy in exam but the marks scored will not be high. that was what happened on me I passed my P1 at first attempt though just getting an average mark in 50s. I was expecting to fail but was pleasantly surprised to pass instead. So , my instincts tell me that i passed this paper because of the exam techniques i used :For P3, you need to have some common sense and understanding in the business environment/modern business world, then only you can bullsh*t in your answers. if otherwise, it is difficult to write those answers. i would say that P3's syllabus is wider since the business environment is so huge, any industry may come out, those models studied also not easy to apply. as long as you wrote some logic over there, you should be able to score 1. APPLY the principles/theories to the questions asked and bringing the exam scenarios into your answers as examples to indicate the application of the principles/theories. 2. ANSWER all parts of the questions - i mean EACH AND EVERY PARTS. Use common sense even if you find the questions difficult. 3. TIME Management is very crucial 4. VERBS - understand what is verb requirement and present your answers fulfilling those verb requirement strictly 5. PRACTICE past year questions - this is a MUST 6. READ Examiner's articles , reports , analysis - there are always helpful ALl the best to everyone for the coming dec 2011 exams - i have just registered for my exams P3 and P6!!! DEC 2011 .....here i come *charges ahead with full steam* |

QUOTE(ComingBackSoon @ Aug 23 2011, 01:22 AM) No such thing as "what will be my possible marks for F7 F8" Your comment is certainly a confidence booster. Thank you so much! Think many of us in this forum desperately need such encouragement along the way They say F7 F8 F9 are many steps harder than F4 F5 F6, but except for F5 which I got 88, all the other F paper I somehow manage to maintain at mid 70s... And I took 4 papers each section. F papers are really not that hard in my opinion, just study the whole syllabus and no nasty surprise will come out in the exam. |
