i also spent too much time on Q1 but i think not comprehensive enough. also not enough time to finish everything, at least i tried to answer all.

should not have chosen to answer Q3 as it has 3 parts, waste my time reading again and again. Q4 should be much easier. overall i think enough to pass
*
worst part...q1 i write for 1/2 page++ i cancel and write on 2nd page
time wasted
then i had to jump to procedures...
I oso duno wad procedures to verify classification of lease other than one

then i choose Q4 n 5

Q5 sub questions 3 marks each I leave blank

Not fast man..Assuming I pass these papers and continue taking 2 p papers per sem..Without failing I could only graduate at 23..Whereas those who started out same year with me had already graduated last sem sad.gif

When I took this course I was thinking I would finish faster than my degree friends but turns out most of them has graduated this sem.

Anyway no other choice but to push forward! Good luck all!
*
what's with this wrong mindset?

professional cert > degree

so what if ur frens graduated earlier than u

ntg wrong with that

i duno wads wrong with ur thinking

but even u pass in 23

it is still considered young

n u really could have take 3 or 4 at one go

if u're full time student...

so it's probably ur problem wink.gif

*

Yea I understand la..but seeing as to how CAT and ACCA were promoted as a 3 year course, I just feel bad for not completing it within 3 years..

3-4 P papers? Actually I failed once in cat..from that point on I never felt confident in my studies already so I take less papers per sem..ended up I become damn slow (took 1 year to do f4,5,6)..  then I realize it was silly of me to lose confidence.. so now trying to pick up speed so I'm taking 4 papers (f7-p1)
You working mah..Your progress is understandable..I'm full time student  doh.gif
*
i would advise u dun try to attempt 3 F + 1 P papers at once

3 papers are still manageable

unless u're cream of the crop

this is not about the ability for u to study

but the scope of learning and content of those papers are very wide

trust me...don't try to spot. spotting is killing...
i kena when i m doing my f5. everyone said previous sitting linear programming came out, therefore no need to study. when i was reading my question, i almost fainted. what the heck, linear programming again!! thank god i passed...

i'm 24 this year and i m still doing my F level, so you're not alone. i hope i can complete my level 2 by june 2012.
btw i m a student that stand below the average level, poor english, no accounting nor finace background. you aren't that worst right? so wake up and fight back, pass these stupid paper.
*
do you perhaps
took f5 2 sittings ago
which means dec 2011?

I question spot and neglect ABC n linear programming
and both came out again

luckily I passed

from that time onwards
I will read the tips
but nevertheless I will cover all the notes
not giving priority to certain part

but deep inside my heart
I will analyse which part of the syallbus will allow me for my best performance brows.gif

p/s: sometimes it's really hard to settle down when I'm a guy who does calculation and analysis
for things that I have done or could do better

my answer for question 1 for P7 is in severe condition doh.gif
hoping for a pass
maybe by some help from professional marks and quoting some IAS and ISA

well u see...
out there are so many tips
and somemore different from each other

hence it will create an illusion that this or that tips provider is accurate

this time around..i think TARC Penang tips for p7 is quite accurate

now im in a situation where when i dun blif the tips...the tips are accurate
and vice versa laugh.gif

one question..

F7, F8, F9 which paper time management is more crucial during the exam (in sequence) ? meaning i must quickly move on if i m stuck on the question...
*
all paper needs time management

well it really depends on how the examiner sets the requirements and marks for the question

eg. P7 yesterday 23m for - preliminary analytical review, identify & explain audit risk

Hmm... Another option for me to consider.  hmm.gif
Finally! Someone I can relate to. Well, I'm pretty much a below average student. I don't do well with memorizing. I was also a science stream student in school.  laugh.gif
At the moment no. I was working some time back. But nothing related to accountancy though. I was doing credit control for a few months before quitting to start my ACCA.
Wow. Automatic qualification for MIA?  hmm.gif
Ah. So its accepted then. I'm in a sweet-sour moment at the moment. Sweet because there's still a chance for me to go abroad. Sour because I'm getting slowed down in ACCA.
Anybody coming home smiling after an examination should get their heads checked first (unless its the last day of exams  brows.gif ).   laugh.gif
*
in fact if i dun frown when i saw the questions
it's a gd sign

then if look into the requirement
then if i frown means the questions are not within my capability

and after exam
for sure I will analyse my behaviour n action

and as I said earlier
ACCA examiners treat me as VVIP
every sitting the questions are not hard!!! laugh.gif

but screw the requirement and time constraint vmad.gif

For P4,

Q2 and Q4 is pretty standard. If you did BPP's revision kit you would have came across similar questions. Do agree that Q1 has A LOT of calculations though, i finished Q1 by 4.50pm -.-""

Edit: What did Q2 said about basis risk ? I didn't read properly, did it say assume no basis risk and basis will decrease linearly to zero ?
*

then u got time to finish the remaining questions?

the annual equivalent CF right ... the cost of investment is different each year by using NBV of project? or just the initial cost?

i don't get you....

the cost of investment used to calculate ROI/RI is usually the net assets at beginning of the year, unless they give you comparative figure, ask you get the average lor
*
no la... im talking bout Annuity Depreciation la

the ( annual equivalent CF - imputed interest ) formula

im saying the annual equivalent CF stays the same every year

while imputed interest is different

weyyyyy tomorrow P5 laaaaaa!!!!! scared la~~~~~
some more Alexx Watt's style seems like focusing on writing instead of computation
*
i prefer writing > computation la

the calculation will take alot of time but the marks rewarded are not that great

if u perform cost-benefit analysis

it's better to concentrate on theory

p/s: my friend told me someone told him it is possible to pass P5 without touching calculator notworthy.gif
