Amazon. About 6k in total.

Thanks. Ordering now.

Not seeing the NEX-7 for order or preorder on Amazon. You sure it's there? Even BHPhoto have placeholders for it with no definite release date or preorder option either.

here you go -
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-NEX-7-Compact-I...a/dp/B005IHAIEI
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Carl-Zeiss-Sonn...s/dp/B005IHAI8O

but hopefully here in Malaysia will get them in October instead of November. Just like Nex-C3 started here about a month earlier

Beauty! Cheers!

Still says preorder phase though. I'd prefer to get it locally, but if "locally" means have to wait for a longer time, then I may pursue the Amazon route.

Sony NEX7 release date pushed back indefinitely due to the Thailand flooding.

I've patiently waited for this and skipped the NEX5 and this happens! *slaps forehead*

i wouldnt call waiting for something good to be pointless... smile.gif

What idoblu said. Love your style, brah!

Same reason why some skipped NEX3 and got the NEX5N themselves. Settling for second best isn't in my blood. wink.gif

Feel free to skip this pointless post though, since idoblu already made my point. icon_rolleyes.gif

What I want to point out is that both NEX5N and Nex7 can shoot good pictures,
if you are really likes photography rather than being gadget collector by means get it already.

Camera nowadays are pretty much pampered.
You get very good noise control already, MP also super high, LCD also big big,
but a lot people uses old dslr like 40D also shoot very good picture  biggrin.gif

Not in a hurry to get it although I prefer to get it before the year ends. Still have my old m4/3 that serves me well. I wanted NEX7 compared to NEX5 for its easy of accessibility with those two dials, built in EVF (instead of pasang cabut version) and plan to stick with this for a while, like how I've stuck with my old m4/3 for a number of years already. So , go for the best instead of something intermediate. All these are personal preferences, and I'd like to believe they are not "pointless". wink.gif

Nex-5 or Nex-7?

Ask yourself what you need, and how much you're willing to fork out for it, and see if they fit into your model choices. Asking questions like that you've asked is subject to broad generalization rather than anything else.

I also suggest basing your purchase on refutable sources like Steve's Digicam or DPReview and align it with what you need, rather than "people say next very good woh, u should listen them and buy new7". Even my take on what covers my need, may exceed or don't enough to cover yours. Better research will avoid "pointless" and potentially expensive purchase later. wink.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

There you go, a genuine photographer summarized it for you dilfadil81. Should have enough data there to make your decision. Dont be swayed by opinions of others, make your own mind when it comes to what you need. After all it's your own purchase. Nothing is pointless when your money is involved.

Also helps when assumptions is out of the way too. Gunning for specs misconstrued as gearheading doesn't make your picture composition any better or make you a better photographer, it's subjective really. Like using a tool, just because you use one more often, doesn't absolve you from making everyone else's choices look unimportant as yours. It just makes you look like a tool. We all know what presumption is the mother of, dont we? biggrin.gif

A nice preview on the NEX7 : http://www.dpreview.com/news/1110/11101420...ideopreview.asp

The presentation is in 1080p though, so gearheading in this case would help getting the "better picture", compared to interpretative art. I cant find artistic value nor the subtleties of taking photos of peeling paint from old buildings anyway. Or grown men playing and taking pictures of dolls.

Also for the record, all these can be avoided too if it weren't for that cavalier use of the word "pointless". Hey, it wasn't me,I didnt start it, I'm just returning the "kindness" extended to me. icon_rolleyes.gif

A change of pace from previous incident, these NEX7 samples and the short impression posted by this photographer, is promising. The camera is in his hand, and this quote of his makes me excited!

As for the camera..don’t want to give away too much but I can say that the body and controls are wonderful and a big improvement over the NEX-5n.

I share his smiley face! biggrin.gif

Pretty artsy for a gear head camera.

Video samples too!

Pretty exciting for what this camera can do for video! In lowlight conditions too! rclxms.gif

So much for the guy who refuted my NEX7 article quote that says it's gonna get delayed eh? Next time, read first. Zaloon or not, they're not Godsend. That NEX7 has to come from somewhere and that "somewhere" is now under a few feet of water now. icon_rolleyes.gif

The thing is, Sony didn't come up with a concrete release date so that to back up the fact that it is delayed. The person who did claimed "no delay" can always claim that there is no delay at all since no concrete release date. Geddit?

Fact remained, that article came out. Not from some personal blog or anything, but reported from a reputable techblog itself. And it mentioned delays. Backed up by the fact that no reputable retailers are holding stock for NEX7 now, other than select media representatives who writes preliminary impressions on it.

I guess my disappointment and frustration for its delays are now justified? whistling.gif

My original question to Sony Support was to ask if the Camera will be available in this month of November, specifically 11/11/11 (ship date and international availability). He said no, not so soon, probably not this month even for Malaysia. Well! Just have to hang on a bit more...
*
Thanks. We not have at least a date to benchmark it against. In this case, I'd be overjoyed if I'm proven wrong, so that I can buy one myself as the date arrives. But should it crosses that date, we all know that the article speaks the truth.

Just wanna let the those who doubted the article I quoted and the folks who said I was wrong and pointed Photo Zaloon as their source that the NEX7 is on time to eat their own words. Still have a week to go before that date passes. Like I said before, I'd like to be proven wrong, coz I want my NEX7 without having to fight with the Christmas shopping people.

Not everyone shoot dolls. Some of us shoot live humans and we don't feel the need to stick our camera in their face

+1. Sometimes folks fail to realize or empathize when their shooting subjects are narrowed down to a singular "point of view only". Now unless your human subject are okay with shooting their open pores and imperfections of their skins, I'd think aesthetically that it is more feasible to shoot their from not so close a distance.

Someone needs to make a new thread for this, post count way beyond what it is permissible to be.

Any news on the local launch of Sony NEX-7? IF there aren't any or if it's that Studio Zaloon February 17th release date is the local launch date, I'm getting mine from Taipei end of this month, stopover trip enroute to Los Angeles. NT39,980.
