Retail warranty sounds suspiciously like AP unit... best that you clarify with them first. I'd rather get original Sony warranty... much safer if anything fails.

Identifying the SEL16 and SEL1855 is easy.. the SEL16 is a pancake lens, very thin and small, while the SEL1855 is a zoom lens about three times the length of the SEL16. Move back a page and you can see my explanation on the differences.

That's a fantastic shot The LA-EA2 costs RM1199 from Sony. I bought mine from Zaloon for only RM980. Of course, it was packaged together with the 5N body and DT35/1.8.

I think it does not boast the value of the picture, but what it does boasts is the quality of the well-made SEL1855 kit lens, coupled with the in-camera lens corrections on the 5N. A lot of people getting the NEX are moving up from a P&S, and they are expecting good SOOC quality without fiddling with or are daunted by RAW file processing.

That's one way to look at it. Personally, I would think getting the body will extend the life of my camera a bit more.

On identifying Ori and AP, I suppose looking for the Sony Malaysia sticker and scratch label is enough? I'm not too sure on this, maybe other members can enlighten us on this.

Customs will definitely tax you. I think that's the good news... Knowing the way our officials work, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a "lost" item or "no record found".

After a few days testing on my nex-5N, everything is good. Color is rich and image is sharp. Also, great high ISO performance, helps me to take nice photo at lowlight condition...

The only problem is the annoying "clicking" sound... I can hear the sound clearly when i hold it close to me and tilt it.. SHIT! Sounds like mechanical part failure.. will send to fix it when free...

Do note that the services centre has been moved to Sony Style Curve... no longer at Midvalley.

Really loving the Tamron SP90 on the 5N... this macro thing is really getting on me! Handheld. I'll stop posting macro shots after this!

Twin lens or single lens? If twin lens, then it's really really cheap....

haha... my non E-mount lenses are mainly Konica Hexanon range.
I have another adapter is for the Schneider Kruztnach DKL mount.
try to minimize the number of adapter type. stick to only few types.
Will get the MA adapter for alpha and minolta lenses.

My favorite is Leica M mount because it is very thin only, but the lens price is killing! So have to KIV first.

Leica lens mostly optimise for film. thats why you see the color rendition is superb.
in other way round, their digital sensor is optimised to render the lens color.

no harm slapping it to your nex, but you wouldn't see too much difference than using a sony zeiss lens.

Just saw few NEX-5ND sets (Ori Unit) at Lowyat yesterday @ RM2550 c/w few accs (Mem Card, Tripod, Case, etc.)  ...

btw I opted for Sony NEX-5K (Ori Unit) c/w Sandisk 8GB Mem Card x 2, Tripod, & Bag for RM1499...feels that i can spend the RM1k difference on other things...

just want to ask, the salesgirl ask me to register the warranty online....and I get 15 months warranty, is there any way to extend it?
