i'm very much interested with the new K5 as i'm looking for my 2nd car. few options including K5. went to KIA showroom in glenmarie shah alam today to see it.
was amazed by the size of the boot! its huge! then there was it. nothing else impressed me. the built can be say slightly lower than japs, but with 5 yr warranty i dont think u need to worry much. but the dashboard / fascia plastic is not up to my expectation. the door are not as solid as japs, IMHO, no nice 'tummbb' sound and felt light the leather inside was not impressive, stitching and quality somehow i dont see myself driving this car in the future so i ended up my visit in only 15 mins by the way, the sales person said they are doing a customer day next weekend, so u can test drive car, including K5.

QUOTE(gregy @ Mar 4 2012, 02:29 AM) Bro, what other cars are you comparing the K5 against? Curious to know. i'm comparing with Citroen C4, not same class as its a HB, while K5 a sedan. but due to price in my range of budget thats y i'm considering it Added on March 4, 2012, 6:53 pmQUOTE(serendipity168 @ Mar 4 2012, 04:30 PM) Hey there, sounds like you're currently driving a Jap car. Which model is it and which are the other cars that you have shortlisted? Do share. i have a 2011 civic currently my list are : citroen c4 jetta optima k5 new camry 2012 currently looking more towards c4 for its built, quality material, look and specs are generous for its price, IMHO. no offense to K5 kipas-susah-mati fella, i still in love with the look! its a nice and sporty looking car thats for sure! [quote=cybermaster98,Mar 5 2012, 08:09 AM] I would say the specs on the K5 beat out all the cars mentioned above. From your comments, you are looking at only cosmetic quality while the main draw of the Optima is its specs, interior space, exterior design & its price. The K5's quality may not be on par with the Japs for sure but its surely much better than all previous Korean makes.
If the Camry, Teana or Accord had the same specs the K5 had, their prices would be approx 170K for the 2.0L model. Thats a good 26K difference. I think the K5 is a good choice especially with its 5 yr unlimited mileage warranty.

i didnt say other cars win in specs vs the K5. surely K5 have more gadgets than any of those cars. thats what worries me.
thing is, cars like jetta, camry, u pay more than what u get c4 u pay what u get, IMHO K5 u pay less than what u get in this capitalism world, when u pay less than what u get, then u should think twice. my 2cents.
