Bro Landy, youre spot on. The rear lights are not the same as in brochure. It is call rear fog light. It is too bright n will be a nuisance the car following behind. I demanded naza to change it. Lets see how it goes.

passat is IN D-segment...although some might feel doubt abt it, try sitting in the car, and yeah..bigger than accord for the interior space

Today went to test drive k5...

Not much power. No oomp...

The exterior is too stylish....will easily outdate...
Interior not so comfort....as well

OMG!!! Buying a car without test drive... Are u kidding? By just reading cooment by other ppl only and straigth bought k5! ... To me this is ridiculous and crazy act...

Not all ppl got the same preference in driving.....no matter how, the k5 driving feel really not up to my expectation...

Although it got good looks...but tat is not impotant coz the design will outdate soon.... The thing tat will not outdate is the engine hp and torque....

After few years, when i feel the design is boring already, i will say WTF! ! wat car is this??. no power wan....no pick up wan...n blah blah

Same goes to elantra.Before launch,hype up kaokao,win duno what lousy north american best car award lah,and some other crappy award. But when come to malaysia and you actually test drive it,it is so underpowered.Even the 1.8 felt like crap. Lets not talk bout price lah,even if the elantra 1.8 was priced at 99k, i cant seem to find any reason why I should buy it.The same goes for this Optima.

They dont understand that all these awards are actually paid for by Hyundai and Kia.Thats why you see all these korean brands suddenly winning so many crappy awards.Its all part of their marketing strategy.

Just look at the Sportage,it looks so nice ,but how often u see them on the road? HARDLY! Good design will win you a few fans overnight but wont last long.Great driving charecteristics and a design that will last a long time will win you  loyalists.

i gt 3 car shortlisted previously 1st is VW passat follow by new camry and K5, end up camry is out no point pay so much getting such spec sumore without VSC

for the power, i test drive accord 2.0 and camry 2.0...if compare via K5, K5 definately better than both T&H, take note when i test drive K5 we gt 5 ppl sit inside the car. of course you cant compare via turbo engine it's totally different but i doubt turbo suitable in hot country or not...my coli 2 weeks Polo just lost power and break down..

anywhere i will gor for either passat or K5... how wish Kia can bring in K5 turbo or 2.4... 

yup agree... if power definately go for passat...but still...i prefer feature K5 almost gt all what i need, except turbo or 2.4 haha

Only a stupid person like you will come here and say Passat 1.8 gives good driving feel like you made some big discovery. We all know that u dumb fool. VW has got among the best engines and gearboxes around and WE ALL KNOW THAT!

Passat 1.8TSI has 250Nm torque which makes it more powerful than Optima for sure. Plus it comes with a world renowed 7 speed DSG gearbox while the Optima only has a 6 speed auto. WE ALL KNOW THAT!

Passat surely has better driving dynamics because its VW and WE ALL KNOW THAT!

But then Passat 1.8TSI (CKD) also costs RM27,000 more and has got less specs than the Optima. Plus it looks really dull and boring and its seat comfort is no where close to Optima's standard. WE ALL KNOW THAT!

The Teana comes with a XCVT transmission and it delivers more low range power than the Optima. The acceleration is also smoother. WE ALL KNOW THAT! But sorry, i dont wish to drive around in an uncle's car with half the specs available compared to the Optima.

Only a fool like you will evaluate cars based on 1 or 2 factors. I suppose it didnt strike you that there is no such thing as a PERFECT car. The owners here chose the Optima not because it is perfect but because it was GENERALLY the best and it gave them the most value for money for the RM143K that they are spending.

So now tell me something we DONT know. And while ure at it do tell us what's your CURRENT car.

Yeah he thinks that we are gonna jump up and start claiming that the Optima is the most powerful car out there. Such a dumb fool. Telling us birds can fly as if he made the discovery himself.

I myself said many times that the Optima is underpowered during low range acceleration while the power kicks in only at mid range. Hence, why in normal town driving ull feel the weight of the car and your FC wont be that good. We all know that right!

I tested the Optima 8 times under various driving conditions both as driver and as a passenger. This is probably the highest number of test drives anybody has ever had as far as i know. Beats my previous record of 7 test drives in 4 states in 2003 for my Toyota Vios. And yet i get a fool like him coming here and talking as if he made some super discovery which i failed to see during my 8 test drives. 

Btw, seems that the new Toyota Camry is getting thrashed on Paultan. Current stats are 542 negative ratings and only 79 positive. Hope that translates into poor sales for the Camry. That would send the message across loud and clear.

i had 700km on my first attempt. but it was 50%hiway 50%city

Even during high revs the 2.0L struggles to pull the heavier Optima compared to the Forte. In the Forte when the rpm revs past 4K rpm esp in 2nd gear you'll feel your kidneys being pushed into the seat whereas the Optima is more gentle.

And you can't change gear whenever you want with the paddle shifters... if your speed is too low the gearbox would not allow upshifts to prevent losing torque.
