Hi guys,
Does it matter if the optima is manufactured in 2011 and I get the car and registered in 2012, considering that I want to sell the car on 2013? How old is the car listed on paper? Does it matter when selling the car? |

Thanks for the valuable information, cybermaster98.
The salesman say for optima manufactured in 2012, it will all be CKD and charging the same price as currently. That's a rip off I think, and if it is true, I won't be buying optima anymore. What do you think? |

Why first 3 services should be mineral or semi syn? Did kia schedule that for the optima first 3 services?

QUOTE(zrill @ Feb 29 2012, 11:57 PM) Just received my 2012 white K5 today. Changed front, back, all 4 rims and steering wheel KIA emblem to the 'K'. Also changed the rear license plate light to white Led. Also ordered new plates with CF sticker. Will be receiving tommorow. Bro how much it takes you to change those? And where did you change them? Because the crap SA told me there's no 'K' emblem that fits optima yet and cannot change the one at the steering wheel, scare it will trigger the airbag and explode. WTF?As for the drive it is absolutely wonderful drive so far. Handling wise, so far is great. Definately better than sonata. Need to get more milege to really evaluate. QUOTE(jAkUn @ Mar 5 2012, 02:47 PM) no one has any comment on k5 ICE? does the infinity sound system is good? need to get the feedback, if the sound system is not good, might need to reserve money to upgrade the sound system. The sound system is good with solid base but I've experience two show car at different location and noticed that the speaker sound is breaking, not so durable I guess. But probably it might be due to the customer testing it out at the highest volume? Anymore comment on the sound system? I've also read from this forum that 5 years warranty doesn't cover the sound system. Anyone can re-confirm that on this? The other downside that I've noticed is the side rear mirror. It is just flat, unlike camry rear side mirror (slightly curve at the end) that are able to cover more blind spots. |

QUOTE(JuneSeptember @ Mar 9 2012, 06:06 PM) White nice, but I foresee that it would flood the streets like white fortes. I took grey as I like my car with a little elegance but now a bit regretful. I feel bright silver is better as it is metallic. For white, it is snow pearl white, which is not metallic. Did I get this wrong?Anyone suffering from squeaky sunroof yet? I've yet to take any actions to solve it. Btw, I managed to sit inside a 2.4 Camry during toyota road show to compare. 2.4 Camry seats are damn comfortable, K5 cannot beat. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Mar 11 2012, 03:25 PM) Try the Pit Stop car wash centre in TTDI. They use Maguire products and they do a really good job. Become a member and car wash n vacum only RM8. Membership can be shared by up to 4 cars. Not bad actually. Pit Stop TTDI increase price already? RM 10? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=307...&type=1&theater RM 399 to become member for optima? If can provide member for 4 cars then not bad, but if just 1 car, doesn't really make sense, cheaper to just pay normal price https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=223...&type=1&theater This post has been edited by kenrain: Mar 11 2012, 09:19 PM |

Regarding the alarm, I've tried it today at the showroom:
1. Have SA go inside the car 2. I Lock the car with remote from outside 3. Asked SA to open the door from inside Alarm didn't got triggered... Did I missed out something here? |

QUOTE(K5WHITE @ Mar 12 2012, 04:45 PM) 1. Have SA go inside the car Great! I've got a stupid question here, how to turn off the alarm after it is being triggered? There's no panic button on K5 so not too sure about it.2. I Lock the car with remote from outside. Take the remote away and wait 30s. 3. Asked SA to open the door from inside (of course u dont come back to the car with the smart key) This shud trigger the horn Another disadvantage of this K5 is that if you forgotten which isle that you've parked your car in shopping mall, you will not be able to find it back as there are no panic alarm |

QUOTE(DJSoo @ Mar 15 2012, 11:32 PM) report in as K5 owner by Today Congrats.. very nice! The parking looks like in Bangsar. wish to have more sharing anything about K5 .. over here . Happy Driving !! Added on March 16, 2012, 12:18 am QUOTE(capal buruk @ Mar 15 2012, 08:45 PM) The car was initially big for me before few hours of driving it then only getting use to it. However i still find it quite big for some of the parking lots. (maybe due to I drive a Vios befoe/still). Balik kampung, I used to park my vios easily at the porch. with K5, I need to go close to the wall (takut calar bro). I heard cybermaster says first few service never use full syn. Either use semi or minerals. Not too sure tho. cybermaster can re-confirm?My wife has been driving the K5 to work for the past 4days, So I guess it should be alright. She used to drive Satria Neo (Manual) btw. for FC, a full tank of RM 120 will go to 700km I did 50-50 hiway & city. Gonna go for my 1000km service tomorrow - I've checked and the SC told it will cost RM 289. Should I go for Full Syn or Semi or Minerals? This post has been edited by kenrain: Mar 16 2012, 12:18 AM |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Mar 16 2012, 09:50 AM) It depends what the original oil used. If the original oil used was mineral then stick to it for the 1st service, then change to semi for 2nd and then move to fully syn for subsequent services. Ultimately ive always used fully synthetic oil and ive enjoyed good fuel consumption and acceleration. Thanks, but how do we know what is the original oil used? The SA also might not know what is the oil used currently. Is there any place that writes this? |
