I did the hard acceleration, floored the accelerator from static position till speed was around 120 kmph on a straight even road. I didn't notice the first few gear changes RPM, but what I notice is during mid gear, the RPM goes as high as 6.1k ~ 6.2k only it change to other gear, just right before the RED area of the RPM. This proves the specification was correct, max power at 6.2k    That's when I also noticed what cybermaster mentioned the car burning smell when back at the showroom.

The other thing i noticed was the water vapor in both front headlights. This shows the seals arent good and if this problem appears on cars this new then it aint good. I was told that this is a common problem with the Forte's and there is some mention about it in the manual. Can anybody confirm?

Leg break controls the brakes with cable and your brake pedal control with hydraulic pressure. There will be a difference in the brake force applied between the brake pedal and leg break and in that transition from brake pedal to leg brake cable, you get the 'earth move under your car' feeling. This happens to most large cars as there is more weight settling in during the transition. Should not be anything to be worried about.

No offence, but if and when you decide to get the K5, will you end up buying from this young salesman with so much enthusiasm? Or will you buy from whichever SA can get you the best trade-in deal for your car?

I guess when it really starts to matter, SAs will ultimately buck up or butt out...in the meantime though...

The irony about technical info on products is this: Buyers who are keen enough and who are tech savvy (which means anyone who has an internet connection and knows how to access google) will already know from the net whatever he wants to find out. So, going to a showroom to test the technical knowledge of the SAs is a waste of time, really. Also, what's the point in knowing a car's max torque figure? That's only telling a partial story. To know how powerful and driveable a car really is you need to see its torque and power curves on a graph.

In most instances, information such as the above are useless to the general car buyer.

If however, the SA doesn't know stuff like how many airbags, FC, boot capacity, how to operate the car's controls etc, yes, you can fucuk him/her. But torque figure? That's asking a bit too much.

I bet most here don't even know how to interpret torque curves into a useful assumption. So why bother to ask?

I buy from the Kepong SA, he had explain the most basic requiretment of the car to me and honestly told me he not well known bout this K5 since is still new , so i can understand tat.

I also go & search internet and get knowledge 4myself since i'm getting the car for myself , cant just trust SA said , and sometimes SA will have mistake and do fault since i m also a sales line person .

Even he is not giving me best offer when i find out from other dealer after loan approved . He allow me transfer my loan to other KIA dealer , but i not too.. (he also cari makan only) kepong dealer is the most nearest to me , and he is easy going person, nice . so i choosed to took from him , and he also did delivered the car on the date i want.

so i m always think ''give & take''.

where you got your K5 from ? i stay First Residence Kepong . you ?

1 at kepong tint shop near public bank kepong , another 1 sliver at segambut dalam outside car workshop.

Called Ampang dealer, which the contact given by DJSoo .... The dealer able to give RM2500 cash rebate ...

This is most likely due to dealing with the dealers. They can offer better discount comparatively the Kia branch.
But then, getting from dealers can't really guarantee the car is totally 'new'. if you don't mind the possibilities the car has been used by someone for short test drive, then u may go to dealer with a better cash rebate. Most likely cars from dealers will be having some 50-100km done, this inclusive the driving from the distributing location to the dealer location.

I booked mine in Kia branch in Glenmarie, no waiting but limited stock level on the silver and PG. White loooooooooong waiting list.

I got my tinted free from my SA, ...... so no headache on that.

And call up another SA selling K5 logo 1set (front and back) Rm200

Or Eagle logo 1set (F and B) Rm200

Any 1 share? Share means we buy both .. Then is either u take front eagle logo back K5 logo
Then I take front K5 logo back eagle logo, Or terbalik..  Good idea?
