Hi there all. Just register as member to this community. Been with my Plat Grap K5 for almost a month now and still haven't got over her sexy looks. Always looked back at her in admiration after locking her up.
However, I must say that PG looks better in darker environment. On broad daylight, looks like grey which loses some of her premium high class look.
Mine is 2011 unit and i noticed during my 1st service that some 2012 units got no K5 emblem at the rear. Very odd since the official name here is Optima K5.

QUOTE(kenrain @ Mar 19 2012, 11:50 PM) I did the hard acceleration, floored the accelerator from static position till speed was around 120 kmph on a straight even road. I didn't notice the first few gear changes RPM, but what I notice is during mid gear, the RPM goes as high as 6.1k ~ 6.2k only it change to other gear, just right before the RED area of the RPM. This proves the specification was correct, max power at 6.2k That's when I also noticed what cybermaster mentioned the car burning smell when back at the showroom. Been driving the k5 for just over a month and 2600+km on odo but only rmembered once smelling the burning smell. That was when i first took dlivery of the car. I think it was still in the first 100km drive but i did not accelerate hard at all. The smell was quite obvious but dissipated very quickly too so didn't pay much attention to it. Apart from tht the car has been performing fine. Mine is 1st batch wit no rear aircon

Anyone got problem with the auto light? Noticed mine not functioning consistently. At times very sensitive, will switch on when passing thru short underpass but several times lights did not switch even during broad daylight like 8.30am. Anyone knows where is the sensor? And does it detect light intencity or UV?

QUOTE(rcracer @ Mar 21 2012, 11:23 PM) that means it's a good system, otherwise you get lights going on and off like a circus there is normally two sensors one front facing, one facing up, if forward facing detect light and up doesn't means it's an underpass only, no need switch lights on, if both sensors detect darkness, means either really dark or entering tunnel hence lights needed. beofre this common joke was to manually switch on lights at every underpass to pretend to other drivers your car had auto headlamps same goes for auto wipers, erratically switch them on and max speed to simulate auto wipers I mean the auto light did not switched off during broad daylight like 8.30 am. Usually it would auto off when daylight at ard 8am. I think the autolight sensor a bit erratic. Tomorrow i test again[I]

QUOTE(irangan @ Mar 26 2012, 10:52 AM) For rattling sound, did you check it out by Kia SC? Loose screw? I need to check it when I collect my car later this week. Sound coming out when u drive fast or whenever u on a bumpy road? thanks I think i had the same problem initially. It's a faint but annoying noise. Couldn't pinpoint source but definitely from front passenger side. Quite irritating when radio is off. Happened whenever going thru bumpy road. But the earlier reader was right. It's the seat belt lock. I just readjust the position slightly and it's gone. It think it's knocking against the arm rest. Hope this helps
