Just sent my car for first service, heard from the Sales Mgr that they are going to do a road show end of March till early April, can test drive K5 kao kao.

Btw, i lazy to DIY my sunroof noise so i asked Chan Sow Lin SC to fix it but none of the service technicians knows what's wrong with my sunroof and simply sticked a long strip of black spongy tape along the base of the sunroof. Noise still persists so i peeled it off and repositioned it as per leds' solution, haven't tested it yet. Btw, the sticky tape residue how to remove ah?

So can somebody compile the list of LYN K5 owners as per tradition?
What engine oil do they use Petronas Syntium 5000? How much?

According to the maintenance schedule I got from NazaKia, they are using Syntium 3000. RM 288.77 for the first service.

Got me all excited. Haha.

One example is the legendary honda b series (not all) have managed to touch 100hp to 1lt ratio. But definitely we wont be gettin the gdi versions any time soon.

Those were the glory years before cat cons and strict emissions regulations. These days it's getting harder to extract that last bit of performance from NA, so many manufacturers are opting for turbodiesel or petrol turbos instead. I think all European marques already have turbodiesels in their lineup. It's only the Japs and Koreans who are slow in their uptake on diesel fed lumps.

Well, don't be surprise on the 6th serivice (60K) gonna cost you RM1.5K just for parts replace. I doubt how much the labour for this job.

Yala, but those are big turbos with super laggy engines, not meant for day to day driving and good FC lor smile.gif

Last time one of the most successful rally cars was the Lancia Delta, this and the Celica. Ol skool smile.gif

Not those type of cars la. Those are performance cars.

I m referring to family sedans and hatchbacks for the average Joe. Engine designed more for fuel efficiency and producing the power output of larger capacity cars.

Those cars listed above are not that fuel efficient. SR20, RB26, 13B, 4G63T and EJ20 all hav great power but come with a hefty price. Not your average Joe ride.

Well I said that because I vouch for the car. Do I need to put down a deposit immediately? Do I need it asap? Should I consider other cars? Well, last I checked the prerogative is mine, never yours to begin with.

If everyone were to purchase the car immediately after a test drive or even checking it out in the showroom, this 'Kia Optima discussion thread' will cease to exist and labelled 'Kia Optima Owner's thread' instead, genius.

I have done my part in sharing my experience with the everyone here, other than trash talk what have you contributed the community lately?

Good write up but i think we should always sound these sales ppl who feed us with crap. They need to realise that they are at the forefront of information and thus should not blindly dish out crap. Over acceleration is probably the biggest bullcrap ive heard in a long while.

Btw, what route did you take on your test drive and where did you test it out?
*
Drove it around Bangsar (slopes), Jalan Duta (acceleration/paddle shifters) and back around Bukit Damansara (winding roads) smile.gif

I made a mistake actually, I opted for semi syn as I thought they gonna change oil again on 5k km service. So I'm gonna change oil again on 5k km service and then switch back to fully syn.

The first 3 services should normally be mineral or semi syn. Never use fully syn for the first service.

Shooting blindly? Dude, do you have selective amnesia? Who's the wiseguy here with the taunts?

Nexen tires? Let's not even go there! Here is what you have "Contributed":

1) You hijacked the thread to engage in a 'My Opinion of Tires is better than Yours' bickering with another forumer who challenged you to provide some facts, not opinion.
2) Your so called 'contribution' is nothing more than protecting your little delicate ego under fire.
3) Lastly, let's not forget about dragging the community into an out-of-topic discussion.

There is no point arguing with one who is constantly in denial mega_shok.gif

Wanna know what 'Contribution' means?

Here's a hint:

Folks, got a call from another KIA SA today. By end of March (give or take beginning of April) you may take the Optima out for a spin at the Red Cube along Federal Highway. I was told that the Sportage is also available for test drive as well. For those who are interested, do mark you calendar or contact a SA there beforehand. I suspect there will be quite a queue there biggrin.gif

Capish?
