i gt 3 car shortlisted previously 1st is VW passat follow by new camry and K5, end up camry is out no point pay so much getting such spec sumore without VSC doh.gif

for the power, i test drive accord 2.0 and camry 2.0...if compare via K5, K5 definately better than both T&H, take note when i test drive K5 we gt 5 ppl sit inside the car. of course you cant compare via turbo engine it's totally different but i doubt turbo suitable in hot country or not...my coli 2 weeks Polo just lost power and break down..

anywhere i will gor for either passat or K5... how wish Kia can bring in K5 turbo or 2.4...  biggrin.gif
*
Devil98 bro, I m also facing the POLO turbo break down and make me make up my mind to changed to K5 .

Hahaha.. And I m not Korean boy.

Will go for either new camry or vw...

Korean..tech really suckss...previously own kia spectra...

Initially i tot korean car can give a try but, it really really cannot compete...

The only thing kia can do is to win over those youngster by car design...

I got the test drive unit via my friend...he keep on recooomend me this car...but after test drive, i feel disappointed with its power..
*
This shows how knowledgeable he is. How can you compare a 5> years car tech with today? If I said old Samsung hp was not up to the standard does it mean the new ones are crap too? Please think before you write. As for design yes it was targeted for the younger market, so what? Why don't you jump at Rolce Royce for making their car appealing only to the elderly? Everyone has their target market.

As, all the bros were saying, there is no perfect car but The K5 gives the best bang for bucks. No one has said it is very powerful. Even if they said, they were comparing with the same kind of engine. Please do not compare apples with oranges.

And, yes he does sounds like samivellu the troll who hates korean cars saying its lousy, low resale value.

Guys, the best is just to ignore these jokers.

Are u plain stupid or you have a problem understanding english or are u too lazy to read previous posts?

Only a stupid person like you will come here and say Passat 1.8 gives good driving feel like you made some big discovery. We all know that u dumb fool. VW has got among the best engines and gearboxes around and WE ALL KNOW THAT!

Passat 1.8TSI has 250Nm torque which makes it more powerful than Optima for sure. Plus it comes with a world renowed 7 speed DSG gearbox while the Optima only has a 6 speed auto. WE ALL KNOW THAT!

Passat surely has better driving dynamics because its VW and WE ALL KNOW THAT!

But then Passat 1.8TSI (CKD) also costs RM27,000 more and has got less specs than the Optima. Plus it looks really dull and boring and its seat comfort is no where close to Optima's standard. WE ALL KNOW THAT!

The Teana comes with a XCVT transmission and it delivers more low range power than the Optima. The acceleration is also smoother. WE ALL KNOW THAT! But sorry, i dont wish to drive around in an uncle's car with half the specs available compared to the Optima.

Only a fool like you will evaluate cars based on 1 or 2 factors. I suppose it didnt strike you that there is no such thing as a PERFECT car. The owners here chose the Optima not because it is perfect but because it was GENERALLY the best and it gave them the most value for money for the RM143K that they are spending.

So now tell me something we DONT know. And while ure at it do tell us what's your CURRENT car.
*
Another dump fool here.... U already agree the fact that teana 2.0 is cvt and got smoother pickup than k5....then y u need to make so many comment here.... doh.gif

Pls go back n read my previous post lar.....all the while i just only comment the k5 underpower engine... So did i make any bad comment on k5 other than tat...? NO

I think its you who needs to read the previous posts. My issue with what you posted was not really about what you said but the MANNER in which u said it. U talked as if u made some big discovery and we didnt know about it before. Nobody is saying the Optima is underpowered. Just cuz its sluggish on start-up doesnt mean its underpowered. Go and check out the torque curve before u comment further. U cant really compare a Teana with XCVT with the Optima. Totally different tech. The Optima's power kicks in mid range and thats when it will smoke the Teana. But 0-100kmph it will lose out to many other d segment contenders.

Now if u cant understand that simple english, do get a translator.

Can pump RON95.

Currently, using RON97. Just finished my first full tank and sending my car for my first service this week. 670km for full tank (RON97/70 litres). KL city travel, alot of jam.

So now the Optima is value for money?? After all that crap talk about the Optima you suddenly change and now say its value for money? Your own shit must taste really bitter when swallowed eh?

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1931461?author=kevin23

And no i dont assume i know everything about cars. If i did i wont be on LYN asking questions and sharing my experiences. Again more of your childish assumptions. I know what i know and what i know i share immediately. If i dont know something, ill ask questions. Never ashamed to say i dont know. There are no winners. Just losers like you who cant hold a candle to the more senior ppl in LYN. At least we speak with facts while ure just full of hot air. Im still waiting for your facts regarding why the Theta II engine is worse than the Camry or other similar Jap models. So far uve completely ignored this dare as with all previous dares. A typical trait of someone who blows hot air.

Btw, here's one of the many 'hot air' threads started by this bum. Have fun reading it and laughing! Perfect way to end a typical working day:

aiyoh... ada orang buat kecoh here pulak. doh.gif

QUOTE(gregy @ Apr 4 2012, 02:55 PM)
But I tend to agree with you, the K5 is not for everybody. I am still holding back because of the "adequate" engine. I am sorely disappointed that Naza isn't planning to bring in the GDI turbo. If it's always just me alone in the car, the 2.0 is ok lah, but try having a full load of ppl and luggage, and even the non-GDI 2.4 will also struggle a bit.

The other day I had a friendly sprint with a Sonata 2.0 (I drive a 2.0 6-sp Forte) just to see how well that 165ps engine performed. The Sonata 2.0 is using the exact same engine as the K5, but the former is slightly lighter. Nonetheless, my Forte ate the Sonata for breakfast. He had no answer at all...

*
Naza won't be able to bring in the 2.0TGDi until Kia's factory rolls out a right hand drive version.

I'm totally not surprised that the 2.0L Forte smoked the 2.0L Sonata despite the latter having a negligible bit of extra torque. Just like how lighter B-segments or even Kei cars with less engine output can outrun our 2.0L Fortes in short distance traffic light races. If it's a proper quarter or even half mile drag then it's another matter.

QUOTE(stanleychai @ Apr 4 2012, 04:35 PM)
Yes! it is a bit under power during low RPM, but impressive in high RPM! Especially with paddle shift...you can change gear whenever you want...
*
Even during high revs the 2.0L struggles to pull the heavier Optima compared to the Forte. In the Forte when the rpm revs past 4K rpm esp in 2nd gear you'll feel your kidneys being pushed into the seat whereas the Optima is more gentle.

And you can't change gear whenever you want with the paddle shifters... if your speed is too low the gearbox would not allow upshifts to prevent losing torque.

QUOTE(irangan @ Apr 4 2012, 08:47 PM)

For me there are no other rims that complement the Optima better than its stock 18-inch alloys. The lower spec 17-inch versions, despite being fairly decent-looking on its own, appear somewhat dull when fitted to the Optima as opposed to the 2.0 Sonata which is fitted with similarly-designed rims.

At Page 95... I decided not to respond to any of this uneducational war of words.

Might as well I answer this lady here. Btw Felice, I got mine for only 550km for RM120/63.5L on 100% city drive. (twice the same figure)
My Initial drive was 700km@RM120 but 50%city 50%hiway

I used RON 95. If premium, die lorr.....
