QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Apr 6 2012, 09:10 AM) On a different note, seems like the new upcoming Proton Preve 1.6L Turbo is getting quite good reviews. Plus it seems quite value for money (RM 75,000) considering the specs ure getting. heard from insiders...proton suppliers have problem supplying parts in quantity and quality, hence the much delayed launchInitial spec list: 1) 138Hp, 205Nm torque (more powerful than Altis 2.0V at 144Hp, 187Nm) 2) 7 speed CVT Protonic auto transmission with Sports mode and paddle shifters 3) 0 – 100kmph in 9.6 secs (Kia Optima is 10.9 secs) 4) First Proton with Euro 5 environmental emission standards 5) First Proton to use Hot Press Forming high tensile strength body 6) Certified by Australian NCAP 7) 4 airbags 8) Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) 9) Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) 10) Brake Assist (BA) 11) Electronic Stability Control (ESP) 12) Shortest full braking stopping distance from 100km – 0 in 36.8m compared to Altis and Civic 13) Improved Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) insulation 14) European handling 15) 16 inch rims 16) Spacious interior & more rear legroom 17) 10 year power window warranty 18) First Proton Global Car |

QUOTE(Drian @ Apr 11 2012, 03:54 PM) It's true. Perhaps the way he worded the whole sentence is not accurate but the engine noise does "sound louder" because the road and tyre noise is no longer masking them. Trust me. tyre noise and engine noise comes in different sound wave frequency..hence what we experience is the magnification of a certain frequency...however, overall dBa should drop if one of the source is eliminated or reduced... |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Apr 12 2012, 12:34 PM) Well training is one thing but the salesman has to make a personal effort to know his product right? exactly...not just in term of their own product knowledge, but overall customer service. My SA, wasnt even sure how i can complete the payment prior to taking the delivery of the car. And on the number plate interchange, he oso caused me to lose few days when he mis-informed me of the procedure. Rather than trying to give immediate wrong answer, they shud say "will get back to u soon abt it" if they dont know abt it.Ive met a young salesman at Red Cube PJ who actually went and downloaded performance videos from Youtube on the Optima and Sportage onto his Iphone to show customers. He has also read up alot on the vehicles and when u ask certain questions, he immediately pulls out his Iphone and shows you an article on that. Its all about effort. You have a choice either to wait to be spoon fed or make the effort to get the info yourself. Afterall, its your own sales and rice bowl we're talking about right? Of course, if they make mistakes, and apologize, we shud forgive. But even after that, they act macho, and telling me it is company procedure. I was like "WTF, the other day u told me can !!" This kinda SA, if fren ask me to recommend, i will say i dont have ctc. Added on April 12, 2012, 1:23 pmany guys know the tyre and rims prices in Singapore ? cheaper than malaysia ? planning for trip there soon, driving... how abt my case? that guy told me can have banker's cheque accepted on the spot when i take delivery...and the very minute i done waiting at the bank and paid the fee for banker's cheque, then he call me and say, "company procedure, cannot accept banker's cheque as immediate payment..need to wait for clearance" WTF !!! some more he dont want to admit his fault
yes, but not everyone have internet connection have that amt of time to read all pages in all countries/regions forums' thread...we can see some here, even asking FC after a few ppl already commented...no offence, i think it is okie to repeat the question, coz reading through 111pages is tiresome... SA is important in pursuing fence sitters, or even tech savvy to make up their mind...to close the deal..to clarify, to cook up their products pros over competitor..what he have over their neighbour...this way, to-be-customer has the confidence in putting the booking... and those who already think they done enough research or surveying on the net, perhaps, they will be looking for best deal thereafter... pity the SA ... QUOTE(ken7908 @ Apr 13 2012, 10:01 AM) This is most likely due to dealing with the dealers. They can offer better discount comparatively the Kia branch. if test drive units, prolly will get more than 100km odo...coz 50km odo is definitely there and done regardless from dealer or Kia branch coz need to drive to puspakom for cbu inspection..But then, getting from dealers can't really guarantee the car is totally 'new'. if you don't mind the possibilities the car has been used by someone for short test drive, then u may go to dealer with a better cash rebate. Most likely cars from dealers will be having some 50-100km done, this inclusive the driving from the distributing location to the dealer location. and it is definitely not ethical for SA to sell test drive units as per new and not telling customers...other brand if test unit, they will let go the unit cheaper and pre-inform the customer test unit meaning those used in road show, not those let 1 or 2 customer drive 5km ard shop and yeah, i tot 2.5k discount is alot....for a car still so new to the market |

QUOTE(gary_ckwai @ Apr 13 2012, 12:00 PM) how do we estimate how many KM left in the car as if its <50km the display will no longer show. isn't that the most crucial info for us to estimate when our petrol will go empty? can we safe to say we can travel another 30-40 KM before deciding to fill petrol? when ur "distance to empty = 51km", read ur odo, say 1500km...then u can expect to tank out and stall at roadside at 1550km odo...hehebut when ur "fuel low" indicator lite up, u can expect to pump in ~68ltr of fuel lioaw...so quite close to really tank out.. been receiving sms from Kia-Puchong abt their lucky draw..service there, might get a chance to go Korea |

So u cant blame or sue them if u really stalled at roadside tank out... |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Apr 13 2012, 02:41 PM) Guys, im sure many of you have been waiting for this news for some time. wah !! congrats !! and super congrats to the ipoh branch SA !! maybe he shud buy 7 digit jackpot !! Well, after 5 months of analysis and 9 test drives, ive finally booked my Bright Silver K5 today in Ipoh. I chose this dealer because of a number of reasons: 1) best trade in value for my 2003 Vios 1.5E (RM38K) 2) Branch manager was polite, respectful & had good customer service standards despite my many delays since Feb. 3) even though i was a serious buyer, he refused to allow me to test one of the Optima's there saying its for a customer and its not ethical for him to do so. (I was merely testing him). 4) He also agreed to absorb all the runner costs for getting a KL number plate 5) He said he has stock for Silver arriving by end month which would allow me to get my fav WWR plate. Now need to seriously look into trading in the Nexen tyres. how much difference was it (the vios) compare to kl here? |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Apr 16 2012, 09:36 AM) WWR wont start on tis Friday la. Ive been tracking number plates in KL since last year. Last Friday, the close of business running number for WWQ was 25xx only. I anticipate the earliest possible date for WWR to start is Fri (27th). dont be too sure abt this...i have seen KL plate change alphabet within a week...and since u are going to buy the plate off the counter, and being a KL (popular) plate, u have to be there as early bird to queue up and buy it.. or if runner doing it, they will know the time since they go they everydaymy guess is opening for sale on this thursday afternoon session Added on April 16, 2012, 10:49 am QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Apr 16 2012, 10:41 AM) I remember a bad experience i had with my 1st car when i bought in 2001. It was a brand new Wira and i got it from a Proton dealer who gave me a really good rebate which was more than any branch. if they did remove the ori parts out from ur car uninformed breaching agreement criminally, they dont have to necessary give discounts...checking the car for ori parts confirmation is necessary at any instances...But after about 2 yrs i started experiencing all kinds of problems with the car and when i finally got fed up and went all the way to the top, Proton did a full inspection on the car. They found that many of the original Proton parts had been changed. The shock absorbers, fuel tank, etc were all non original Proton parts. Since then i have been wary of dealers offering discounts that are too good to be true. I suggest all those of you who purchased from dealers at good prices to get your cars checked independently upon collection. I intend to do the same.
