It seem like you need hacked the whole wall instead of glur few pieces.
From what I understand (base on contractor feedback), where you could see similar happen on some shop especially mamak toiler)

1) the tiles never wash before stack, as the tiles have chemical when out from factory.
2) the mixed of susu / cements not rights...
3) the wall didn't drill or relay cements before stack the tiles..

If you knew the contractor perhaps want to ask him, else get someone to do it, but than provide for Dust around the house
