hmm, no matter how great the specs of SGS3 is, it is not a Nexus, thus making it irrelevant in my eyes. Galaxy line is just another manufacturer brand like the Desire / Optimus / Droid / etc is, there are simply too much. Nexus on the other hand are the phones that represent Android in its truest form. yup, that's what Nexus is in my eyes. I"ve only learned that after getting the Desire, if I knew this earlier I would have gotten Nexus One instead. tongue.gif Which is why no matter how great a phone spec is, if its not a Nexus, its not in my list.

Also, when the next Nexus comes out, it will be the specs king all over again. laugh.gif the cycle never ends. Galaxy line at best is just a reference hardware for the up coming Nexus.

o?can do nandroid backup first?cause i just follow the step in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084.

I already done with S-OFF, HBOOT is still 0.93.001
I thought to go to partition SC Card now, so I should now go Nandroid Backup First?

Added on September 30, 2011, 3:23 pmbro, about Nandroid Backup, is it I need an additional SD Card to store the backup?
Or I just use the primary SD Card backup, and then copy all the backup content to my PC and store it?

nandroid backup is the backup of ur rom. it should be in recovery folder. it is reccomended to copy to pc and u can flash later if anything happen to ur SD card(corrupted). u should also backup whole sdcard before do partitioning( copy all to pc).

bro,I'm done with root->s-off->partition sd card->nandroid backup,now going to flash InsertCoin CM7 1.1.3.
I wanna ask, as the requirement stated below:
D CM7 HBOOT - cm7 hboot from alpharev.nl - the one with 130 mB for /system- 1 gB ext2/3/4 partition

Is it I now still need to flash the CM7 rc2 hboot(flash Bravo CM7 rc2 from http://alpharev.nl/) before I flash the rom?

bro,i can't understand to flash hboot...
A) is it burn the bravo_alphaspl into iso disk, just like how i s-off

B)or copy the bravo_alphaspl into my sd card, then follow instructions below:
3) Flash HBOOT with your phone in fastboot mode (Back+POWER) -> 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'
6) Boot recovery, wipe everything and restore

I should go A or go B?

bro, is put "bravo_alphaspl" into "IMGFiles" folder and "IMGFiles" folder put inside "Tools" folder.
Then on Fastboot Commander v.1.51, go Custom Command type "fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl" ?
I did so,but can't load...

AFAIK, when S-OFF, HBOOT version change to 0.93.002. unsure.gif

Check your phone first at Bootloader screen whether already S-OFF or not.. sweat.gif

Second row from top (will show S-ON or S-OFF)

Woah, lazy read and then miss all the action eh? whistling.gif whistling.gif
SC card? Ape itu? Starcraft?
hehe

if you use FastBoot commander, why need use custom command ?

Just select HBOOT, find the .img file , then just fastboot it? *Condition: phone must show FASTBOOT USB <Red> *at least for me*

dunno but that's how I did it..remember to reflash after that (wipe if possible)
not too sure bout RESTORING though. No guarantees. If encounter crashes, you know lah. (ey don't go blame stupid ROM ah, I kill you)

When you run the java applet thingy for fastboot, it pops up s-off thing then you see the first page right? see the three sections, HBOOT, Recovery and something else forgot. yeah just click there, find the img, put there then click the respective buttons labeled. no need use command and shiat.
hmm.gif
Shouldn't have problems since I always used it. (Btw don't f around with the erase part for Fastboot *serious can recover though but yeah, don't go delete from there *if you don't know what you're doing*)

Hi. I just need to clarify something. I've already partitioned my SD into EXT2 and FAT32. And also have already installed MIUI. But my A2SD+ in MIUI shows zero MB. I partitioned 300 MB for my EXT2. So I run

su
a2sd zipalign
a2sd cachesd

A2SD+ does show value now, however, as I run a2sd zipalign and a2sd cachesd my available space progressively gets lower even before installing any applications (total space still shows 300MB) . So instead of having 300 MB for my "internal space" / available space I have approximately half of it now. Is that normal?

Which version MIUI you using? XJ or Au?

If Au, they support Ext3.

Not many roms using Ext2 though... Most of the roms either Ext3/Ext4.

anyone using InsertCoin?
I'm currently on InsertCoin CM7r2 HBOOT 1.1.3, never flash radio and kernel, which are:
Baseband version: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Kernel version: 2/6/35/14-snq-110911

May I have opinion is there any upgrade I should to to enhance my Desire?
Should I go to 1.1.4? Or latest Radio(5.16.05.23)? Or Latest Kernel?
