I'm okay with both.
A simple hi is more than sufficient enough as long as someone else start the conversation.

Cheesy pick up is alright at times, can be fun and funny in a way but if it's too much then it be an annoyance. I usually do cheesy pick up lines with someone i already knew and comfortable with just for the laugh.

From my observation, i can see you are rather someone who make your own assumption  and judgement beforehand. Dont get me wrong, it's not a bad thing.. nor a good thing actually You seems to build tower of walls to be in the safe side, which is good in a way. I guess? Haha. Am I'm right? Might sounds like judging you but to be completely honest i am not. Just an observation. No offense *yikes* *hides*

The reason why i bring this up is because, sometimes it's best to hold on,  on our assumption first before we done our verdict to someone. Because, imho, sometimes what you feel and think about someone might not be correct. Someone who use hi to start the conversation doesn't mean they're bland and down right boring. Maybe they think it's not the right situation to use cheesy pick up lines etc. There are a lot of factors to be considered in this case. Haha as simple as this thing might sounded like, it's actually complicated. Sometimes, we need to give a person a chance.
