Before Apple, no such thing as removing Flash; Things were moving at the correct path, towards mobile computing, bringing one closer to desktop computer experience. Most (if not all) people wants Flash support, browsers or smartphones keep trying to improve the web browsing experience, include Flash. N900 being the first smartphone to introduce full flash experience, brings that closer, then Android.

It may not be NEED as a requirement, but you can't deny or hide that Flash is still used by many websites, and not being able to view those sites properly is simply fail. Now, let's put it simple, let's forget about what licensing, FOSS, etc. THINK simple as a user, does a user want to experience and see what they can see like their home computer? The answer is most probably YES.

I agree! Its all up to us, the users, to determine how we want the product to be and how to utilize our purchasing power.. and its up to Nokia to listen to us.. the problem is that during product launches etc, end users were not invited, only media and developers and those on the inside circles were invited, so we cant provide our feedback there..

The official RRP for Samsung Galaxy S2 has gone down from 2099 to 1899, plus the new Iphone announcement later today is going to make it more difficult for Nokia to compete if they don't price their products aggressively or market it as having more value for users..

I was planning to change from my SGS2 to N9, but if Nokia is unable to provide more value for their product and just produce a generic phone, I don't see the point anymore (e.g. lack Flash support, FM transmitter which existed in N900, N97 etc, single core chip) and it comes as a disappointment because I've been waiting for N9 for so long!

i apologized if i hv discuss something bad...but i js want to clarify whether the phone hv the feature that i need...i dun want after i bought the phone, in the end i need to incurred addition cost to use tat function...and i dun think video call n MMS is the latest technology, why must it need data plan to use it...

maybe most of the smart phone need the internet connection, too bad our telco stil charging high...

I'm not sure I'm following here.. are we saying N9 has no 3G Video Calls support at all, or no 3G Video Calls support without data plan, or what?

If there's no 3G Video Call / MMS out of the box, I will probably cancel my intention to buy N9.. dont want to end up like N900 and rely on 3rd party software to do something any basic phone should be able to handle..

In fact I was willing to buy the phone on the spot as soon as it came out, but now I'm having doubts.. maybe I'll wait for a while for more user reviews to come out.. I need a full-featured phone that can handle everything on a day to day basis, and so far I'm hearing N9 doesnt support this doesnt support that doesnt have this doesnt have that.. not too encouraging! sad.gif

Then again, maybe I'll buy the phone on a whim just to piss Elop off and help the Meego team prove their point.. that Meego aint dead and is a viable platform..

We'll see on Friday when its officially available!

Me : is there any ready stock, can I walk in to digi center and purchase?
(1:42:23 pm) DiGi CS: Thank you for waiting. Inventory information is only available with our outlets. Please visit us at our DiGi centre to confirm the product availability.

Original BH 505 RRP was RM200+
So I think it's safe to assume that this 505 worth more than RM200.

Pre order with free gift offer ended yesterday right?

DiGi Chat is pretty much useless on asking about device availability on particular shop.
Best way is to just visit nearest DiGi Center or call that center.

I called Digi Store 1 Utama, asking if Digi got Ready Stock Nokia N9.. he told me to ask Nokia and hung up..

Is it true the battery is non removable? sad.gif I gave away my old S-I9100 a few weeks ago and used my N900 back temporarily because I wanted to get N9.

Today I tested N9 at Nokia center 1Utama.. The shop assistant doesnt know much about the product though, not very helpful.. Problems stopping me from buying N9 so far :
1) Lack of Flash support, 3G video call, LED notification (remember the useful blue-orange-white colored LED on N900?)
2) Non-removable battery? Reminds anyone of iphone?
3) Cant find xterminal when I was trying out the phone.. did you guys find it somewhere?
4) Great UI, very smooth, I was impressed that I can partially swipe the screen and the game still moves on in the half-screen even with outdated hardware, but I cant find any solid reviews on the phone's performance yet, so no idea on real-world usage vs showroom or roadshow usage
5) No WHATSAPP!!! sad.gif
6) No idea whats the battery life, but so far I've read comments about battery meter % problems in this thread.. is it persistent?

I ended up buying I-9100G White from the Digi roadshow in 1U instead of N9.. lol my 2nd SGS2 this year
Anyway the Digi roadshow got X7, got Iphone, but nobody knows anything about N9.. so sad..

I'll wait for you guys to give more reviews on the phone, and for Nokia to release more updates, and see if its worth getting N9 as a 2nd phone / GPS phone.. I was using 5800XM for GPS but it recently died after serving me faithfully for 2 years plus

Cheers

Actually it has one white LED (whatever it is, only will blink when charging phone).

As for Notifications, actually the screensavers works quite well. If you have SMSes, Calls, and Emails (not sure of other yet), it will display additional icons under the clock screensavers. Waste some battery but at least let you know what to expect without unlocking the phone. Even when you power on (without unlocking), some like SMS or misscalls details already shown on the lockscreen, a bit like iOS5 (a good way to explain, who cares who copy who sue who)
*
Thats good to know thanks.. If the LED is physically there, somebody can always program it to use as notification as well.. The blinking LED thing is Nokia's smartest innovation I think.. can see whats happening at a glance!

I never used N900. What's special about it? Different notification different LED rythm or color?

by default its orange when charging, white booting, green battery fully charged, blinking blue when got miscall / sms
but you can customize it.. lets u know at a glance without unlocking the screen if everything is peace & quiet or got something to check.. if N9 has it it will definitely make it more useful to me icon_idea.gif
