QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 10:53 AM) Most probably this phone won't come with HDMI out.Due to hardware limitation or whatsoever. N9 GsmarenaBut things might change in final product. We need a more powerful Graphics Chip like seriously. SGX530 is so weak. |

On Tuesday, Nokia announced its first mobile phone with its new operating system MeeGo. Nokia N9 is a delicious touch screen mobile phone with innovative interface and with no physical buttons on the front. Nokia N9 will be available for sale from 3 September 23 this year. Because the Nokia N9 is a touchscreen mobile without buttons are all navigating the phone's interface with the shrouds from the right, left, top or bottom. Mobile has three home screens, the first is for all apps and the other for the thumbnails that show which apps are open. The third collects all the events - which gives an overview of messages, calendar appointments and status updates from social networks. By double-clicking, you can turn on and off the screen. The cell phone has a 3.9 inch AMOLED screen with Gorilla ice cream and the skin around your phone that is molded in one piece is made of polycarbonate plastic, which gives a very solid impression. The cell phone has a Carl Zeiss camera with 8-megapixel, dual ledblixtar and video recording in HD resolution. In addition to sending pictures as email, MMS or upload them to Facebook, you can use NFC to transfer pictures to another phone. When using headphones, there is support for both Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus - which Nokia claims to be first among mobile manufacturers. QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 11:21 AM) I salute Stefan Elop for having balls of steel to kill Symbian (although very slowly). But he pissed quite a lot people when he removed MeeGo from Nokia plan. I mean dropping Symbian is an understandable decision but Meego has so much potential but he did the unthinkable. If everything went according to Elop's WP7 plan there won't be any MeeGo based product from Nokia ever again. If you to see N9-01,N10 or whatever N from Nokia, you better hope that Nokia's WP7 sucks. GSMArena's technical detail is not always accurate. It's better to look @ official Nokia technical sheet. From the official technical detail sheet I don't see HDMI support. Yup,kinda surprised me too. According to Nokia's EVP it might be sold around RM2K. On the bright side, he may not be that much of a trojan after all and moving to WP7 is just a move to buy more time and cut down losses to adopt slowly into Meego. Gsmarena has lots of wrong data. I would still hope that they have HDMI. Nobody expects Nokia to not save on hardware and give us 1GB RAM. 2k for 64gb version? If that's the case, not bad but might still be hard to gain extreme sales because SGS2 is only 2099 at launch with far better hardware. |

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Jun 23 2011, 11:29 AM) yeah, another perdiction game of price like what happen to N8. We thought N8 would be >RM2k. But it goes below RM1.7k for first launch. I perdict 16gb will be around RM2.1k while 64gb will be RM2.5k I hate your prediction and hope you get it wrong. So expensive how to sell in the market? Elop's idea? |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 11:38 AM) Engadget raised a really good point. N9 will gain better sales volume if 1. It is priced at an affordable price. 2. Elop announce that Nokia will be investing in Meego to be used for future devices beside WP7. This way, people like it at a cheap price and have the confidence of buying it.As end users we don't know how much progress Nokia made with it's MeeGo device. Some of us judged it's progress by looking at MeeGo progress which made good progress with hardware stacks but the UI need further polishing. But Elop as CEO & every access to any Nokia device & he should have seen this device's potential.Quite a lot of American users like the UI but the uncertainty of the OS making them think twice to buy this product. If fund is the big issue Elop have asked Intel to inject some fund into MeeGo. Agreed on the price issue.Reducing the price slightly could have sell the device in larger quantity. Then again was there only 92 000 unit of N9 made as rumored? I'm still trying to get my hand on the N950.If I can get it I'll abort my plan to get a qwerty android device. QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 12:04 PM) TARAK... Same. My MicroSD is not used except for Nitdroid. From my time with N900 I don't use microSD much.Aside from installing Android & MeeGo usually it remain free. IMHO if your memory is big you won't need microSD. You know there's this Evopedia app for Maemo which is an offline wikipedia reader. The data file takes up 10gb+ of space. With that, I have limitation to put movies ady. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 03:44 PM) Alien Dalvik will let you run Android apps on the Nokia N9 Engadget posted an article about Alien Dalvik in February.Less talk & more demo please. Well written article by Texrat. As expected from MeeGo community advocate It's awesome stuff to be able to have the vast amount of apps from Android available in Meego. Added on June 23, 2011, 3:55 pm QUOTE(kenpachi @ Jun 23 2011, 03:51 PM) Maybe nokia has reduce their price..like n8 and e6 first launch... Hopefully 64gb variant is less than 2k. If that's the case then this is good news.. This post has been edited by hengguowei: Jun 23 2011, 03:55 PM |
