Not true; There's always something called OPTIONS.
That is, turn off FLASH for those that don't need. Or by default, turn it off, then for those who understand the risk, they can choose to turn it on.

Apple are such control freaks. Wasn't it Apple who pioneered the micro-SIM to stop users changing operators? Other elements of control are:

Tied to itunes for file transfer
Tied to itunes for apps
No bluetooth file transfer
Opaque directory structure
No micro-SD card
No user replaceable battery
No flash
No FM radio
Use of torx screws

WP7 has also adopted many of Apple's control strategies to its detriment. Come to think of it, even N9 has many of the above.

1st its for output
2nd you need the right output device that can decode it.

The speaker quality is just average

Apple better prove this by comparing iPhone 4S with Nokia N8's pictures.

Overall whatever iPhone 4S can do SGS II can do it.
Only major thing which in my opinion really stands out is the voice recognition.

i was eager to have this phone as the os is new and everything...
yesterday i went to nokia at lowyat and test the demo unit...yes its fluid and smooth...just like sgs2 and my hd7 wp7.5....
i hold it in my hand and test it about 15 mins...the camera is nice but other than that i dont feel eagerly want to buy this...and im not a fan boy or anything...just the hype doesnt get me

can i use N9 to send MMS & video call without taking any data plan?? n only charge me the video call n MMS rate when i use it......

bcos from what i know, iPhone 3 & 4 cant...it need to hv date plan only can do that, otherwise ur tel bil will be...

ya, is charge at telco rate...but what i want to know is can N9 like E71, which can make Video call n send mms at telco rate, eg video call RM1/minute n 50sen/mms...and connect to the internet when need...

unlike iphone, it will automatic charge the data...i hv heard many cases, which their bill increase alot (cos no data plan) n i no intention to sign up any data plan so far...what i need is to video call, MMS, surfing net when needed.

I'm not sure I'm following here.. are we saying N9 has no 3G Video Calls support at all, or no 3G Video Calls support without data plan, or what?

If there's no 3G Video Call / MMS out of the box, I will probably cancel my intention to buy N9.. dont want to end up like N900 and rely on 3rd party software to do something any basic phone should be able to handle..

In fact I was willing to buy the phone on the spot as soon as it came out, but now I'm having doubts.. maybe I'll wait for a while for more user reviews to come out.. I need a full-featured phone that can handle everything on a day to day basis, and so far I'm hearing N9 doesnt support this doesnt support that doesnt have this doesnt have that.. not too encouraging!

Then again, maybe I'll buy the phone on a whim just to piss Elop off and help the Meego team prove their point.. that Meego aint dead and is a viable platform..

What store is that? Is it under Nokia banner, official store, which only sells Nokia phones; Or some other shop?
If it's official Nokia store, the BH-505 is written there as free gift for 64GB.
If non nokia official store, I believe you can ask for cheaper price as these shops don't have to follow the RRP.
Last time I bought my N81 from official Nokia Store, then go downstairs..... another shop, selling almost RM200 cheaper... everything is same... I asked why, they said "We don't have to follow RRP" 
But yours is still NEW, they may not want to give you special price, especially it's pre-order units.

As for the Shuriken thingy, what I heard in Radio is, you need to spot and find these Ninja and get your shuriken, then go to Nokia Store and play with the N9; You will stand a CHANCE to win a Nokia N9, everyday.

Call Nokia Malaysia and ask them whether free BH505 is official Nokia policy. If they say yes, ask them what they can do about your dealer. If they say it's up to the dealer you're out of luck.

Try posting in Nokia Malaysia facebook. So far, you're the only one whom the dealer said no free gift. Should be standard with all authorised dealer
