never try webos...aiks.
Added on June 24, 2011, 3:57 ami wonder the open source community will join meego party.coz nokia dont have any future plan for it.
Maemo probably has one of the best open source community. They provided updates & apps when Nokia abandoned this phone.Lot's of people still interested with MeeGo but I don't know how long they can can put up with Nokia's shenanigans.Very bad support for Maemo/MeeGo devices.

Thanks a lot for the news. Phew, now I can rejoice

Anyway, this phone surely looks more and more compelling for me to try this. I wonder if the leaked Flash 10 from TI is installable and compatible with this? Since it still using the DEB packaging. Just a question tho...
For Vanilla Meego .rpm apps, I'm sure that it can be converted to .deb via Alien. So no problem there. And I really hope that Preenv is going to be ported, so that we can have some gaming goodness (Although I can be perfectly contented wif emulators

)
Now whats left is some demo for Alien Dalvik, and my life will complete. I don't really care about the social network thingy cause N9 already integrate it well enough into the OS.
So where does ecosystem stands now?
p/s: I sometimes wonder, why no one tries to integrate Android into Maemo ala what Easy Debian has done? Just curious...
Among all the videos I watched I think the last video was the most important for me

Leaked flash files might need some tweaking for it to work perfectly.I patched the leaked flash 10 for N900 & it doesn't work that smoothly

If Alien Dalvik really provide complete Android apps integration in MeeGo then I don't think we need preenv.Anyway I don't think MeeGo have same framework as webOS.preenv won't work if it's like that.
Social network integration has always been highlight with Maemo devices.Although some of the manufacturers making lots of huha's regarding how they integrating social betwork on their devices,Nokia did it 1st in 2009 with Maemo5.Skype,IM & facebook were very well integrated in Maemo 5.
There reason why no one bother to integrate Android in Maemo is probably because someone else managed to port the entire Android to work as proper OS in N900

I genuinely believe if Nokia provided any kind of future software support they can sell this device.

Nokia claim it to be unfinalized. maybr they want to do some tweaking b4 the 'big' launch worldwide
Really?
From what I read from bunch of sites no one have complain regarding the OS stability. So far no demo model OS crashed (like the N8 in Engadget preview) & all the features are pretty much included & working.
N8 on the other hand was plagued by bugs even from the early days.
So why the delay if you don't have much issue with this device?
The faster they ship this device the faster Elop can play with his blocky phone.
