*

Don't worry, the application for fm transmitter is in development now & will be released soon.

Thanks, not worried,  minor issue, just that different sites give different info, Nokia site also not clear on that.

Videos... should be able to support rmvb too right?
Contacts should be able  transfer from main phone through bluetooth ?
*
Don't worry about the codecs. There will be 3rd party codecs available in repo later on.
Contact transfer supported by bluetooth & OVI Suite I think.

RMVB plays smoothly in SGS II using MoboPlayer.
Runs well because of the software like you said. Not much players support hardware acceleration.

Isnt it suppose to be

Nerds : N9 or N900
Regular end users : N9

They made the Nokia N9 the simplify way.
*
But N9 lacks physical keyboard & most of the guys I met during the MeeGo meeting also feels the same thing.
N950 will be direct replacement for N900.
But yes,N9 is usable nerd device.

QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 18 2011, 10:22 AM)
Or you should say Nokia never learn the true art of marketing until now. Purposely limiting the number of device available for sale to systematically create a continuous flow of sales for Weeks.

I wonder if anyone would thanks him if Nokia has better software support for N9. Afterall, the previous helm dont think you Maemo guys deserved any attention at all.
*
But limiting a device that you should have marketed more is stupid idea.As a new device with new OS Nokia should try to expand the marker as much as they can.
Sales limitation wasn't the main reason why N9 created so much buzz. It's the unusual UI.

Previous Nokia CEO was the one all about Symbian.Vanjoki pushed for Maemo because he knows Symbian pretty much suck.
If you looked at Maemo 6 mockup you'll know that it's a pretty much complete OS unlike Maemo 5 & Nokia intend it to be their flagship device for 2010 forward.
But sh*t happened & all nobody knows what's happening in Nokia now.

does anybody know when is it going to release, and does 64GB comes in Cyan? my old N81 just died :/
*
Early October.
Heard it from Nokia (Malaysia) Developer Marketing Manager so should be reliable release date.

BTW she is using Nokia N950 brows.gif

About the 64GB model color you need to email Nokia to ask about the color availability.
Officially 64GB model will only come in black color but some saying that Nokia will provide silicon case with colour of your choice. Also there is rumor that Nokia will expand the color choice just like they did with N8.

Trust me,the black N9 does look very good.Looks kinda intimidating also laugh.gif

^I like black.Every single electronic things I own are black in color...

Maybe she has a N9 but she primarily using N950.During the meeting she gave me a N9 1st.Then Andy asked whether there are anyone having N950.She took out a N950 & said that's her own N950.
I asked her how to get N950 & she told me a person need to submit 2 working application to her & she'll evaluate it & inform that person whether that application good or not.If yes then she'll proceed with ordering a N950 for that developer.

Wesley, the meeting organizer applied for his N950 about a month ago.But his N950 got stuck in custom laugh.gif
Probably need the cap Sirim to pass custom.

Do you think N9 will sell out fast or can we wait a couple of months to get it?
*
This is entirely my opinion:

I believe Nokia Malaysia will get limited number of N9 first to test marker. If the sales are good then more N9 might reach our country.Looking at current reception for N9 I'll say Nokia will get pretty decent sale with N9.

For some funny reason Malaysian seems to love Nokia's Maemo/MeeGo product a lot.Even N900 was not planned to be launched in Malaysia initially. It was launched after high number of request from Malaysian users.

Looking at the N9 reception in Finland everything looks good for N9.I wonder how much N9 will Nokia e able to sell before SeaRay arrive...
If you ask me even if N9 reach 1million in sale Elop should be fired.

It won't flop.I think the sales will be much less than what Microkia(I like this combination) but won't be as low as the bloggers saying.

Actually Microkia's competition now is not iOS or Android,it's Samsung's bada.Bada phones are selling much better than WP7 phones.

Comparing WP7 to Bada is a big slap for Microsoft. Bada is a niche os which Samsung never intended to compete with the big players. If consumers are not interested in WP7 putting Nokia's name on it will make no difference.
*
Actually theres chance for Samsung to move bada as their primary OS.
There's rumor that Cyanogen aka Steve Kondik was hired into team that working on linux version of bada.
So far the OS is coming pretty good.If Samsung do announce linux version of bada that'll be real sign that Android will be secondary OS for them. There's already rumor that Samsung is all ready to drop WP7 as one of their OS.

With their market share & overall revenue Samsung is capable of having an in house OS.Having in house OS is always preferable because you'll have say on how the OS should function & everything instead of trying to mish mash some OS to fit into your device.
Bada 3.0 will be released next month with 3 devices which have good hardwares & glorious SuperAMOLED.MicroKia is yet to announce a single device.I'll say the force is strong with bada & it'll remain strong for some time.

Over my involvement in Maemo Talk I've across few Nokia employees & chatted with them in IRC.
To this date they are still having hard time on why Nokia's management decided to drop MeeGo as primary OS.They are asking not because of fanboys reason but they dislike the fact now is they have to rely of Microsoft for the OS & hardware limitation that comes with it.

Honestly speaking I rather seeing Nokia sticking with Symbian rather than going to WP7.
IMHO problem with Symbian is just 2 : 1)UI 2)Hardware
A major overhaul in UI like what done in Symbain Belle & usage of high end hardwares will make Symbian appealing gain.

Don't bother getting the Android phone with best hardware.Just buy Android phone which "works" with you.
Nowdays I see a lot people comparing Evo 3D & SGS II's specs & having troll match to see which one is the best.I lazy want to entertain people like this.
People like this say iFags are brain washed by Apple but in reality they are also brainwashed nerds

Everytime I see post like "SGS II is the best phone" or "iPhone is the best phone",I feel like vomiting.
I like Nokia N900 a lot but I'm pretty sure I never said it's the best phone in world or whatsoever.

Added on September 19, 2011, 6:46 pmi got one puzzle...if the battery of N9 got problem or need replacement, how to open it? If still within warranty period then still ok..but how if after? is it hard to open it?
*
Some of the pictures might me taken with beta OS.You should try the end consumer N9 to see the final picture yourself.

N9's battery is located under the screen.I personally feel his might produce some problem during usage. But I need to get a N9(if possible) to test whether that problem will happen or not.
To get to the battery you need to pop open the screen.I was told that disassembling the screen isn't easy & there's chance of the screen holder to break if you open in noob way.

For N8 holding down the power button for 6-8 secs until you feel a vibration simulates removing the battery of the phone.

I suppose N9 will have some arrangement like this but no info as yet.

Added on September 19, 2011, 7:57 pm

Microsoft doesn't allow any manufacturer tweaking of the UI unlike Google. Hence one WP7 phone look and feel very much like another. There are rumours that MS will allow Nokia to add their own UI but if this is the case other manufacturers will drop WP7 like a stone because the playing field is no longer level.
Nokia could have stuck with Symbian and used Meego as an alternate OS. But Elop has bet the company on WP7 which may be a bad mistake to put all their eggs in one basket. N9 will not be available in U.S., U.K., France, Canada, Germany, Spain and Italy which are the countries where SeaRay will be launched. Elop desperately wants SeaRay to succeed instead of N9. But online retailers have thwarted him by making the N9 available to those countries.
*
If you used N900 before you'll know that ability to remove battery is kinda important laugh.gif

It's not a rumor, even Elop himself said that Nokia have exclusive right to customize WP7 as much as they like but he being idiot as he is said Nokia won't alter any part of WP7.

I won't say Elop put all his egg in 1 basket.Probably 90% of eggs.MeeGo is still Nokia's long2 shot if their WP7 sales remains stagnant after few years of sales.
But I have to agree with you, betting Nokia on single unproven OS is indeed very risky move.Time will tell whether Elop has couple of screw loose in his head or real business genius.

Retailers are skeptical about selling WP7 devices because end users, whether power users or regular users aren't showing much interest on WP7 devices.Few years ago Nokia's name in any device might have tempted anyone to buy any of their device. But that's not the case anymore.Just because there's WP7 OS in Nokia's hardware doesn't mean peoples reaction on WP7 will get x9000 better.
