I have checked with my vet regarding the need to clear the anal gland from time to time, even if you read in internet about anal gland, naturally they do not need to be cleared as when dogs defecate the excretion will also be released. However, some dogs especially those with soft stools may have impacted anal glands, i.e., the gland opening is blocked, that is when there is risk of infection, itchiness, etc when pet owners need to help them to clear it. If we do this very often even when the dog has no problem we will stimulate that glands to be more active because every time we empty the glands, it will stimulate to produce more, and in the end the gland become super active and will give another problem.

Hi all, my poodle inner part of the ears is reddish and itchy, I see her scratching, what do I use to apply for the itchiness?
