Hey guys! I recently adopted a 2 year old Red Merle (black) toy poodle named Noodles! I've had him for about 2 months now, and I am looking for a good shampoo for black haired poodles.
I've tried some shampoos but i find it hard to groom him after using said shampoos cause maybe I've never dealt with poodle hair before.

Any recommendations?

what mean for hard?

you can use a conditioner like extra volume to make your poodle hair look flurry

cause after i shower him i usually blow dry and comb at the same time with cold air. but its like not easy for me to brush through his hair.

also, i want to use a good shampoo without conditioner cause his skin is a little sensitive. but thank you smile.gif

What comb u using after shower?and how often u comb the hair?do you use the correct comb to comb during drying the hair?and need to comb the hair around every 2-3days..And use the warm air lol.not cold

Actually, if you are using a human blow dryer for a dog, it should be cool air and not warm air. Cause our setting is too hot for them.

I comb Noodle's hair everyday with a poodle brush. smile.gif

If your human dryer got 2 level , than just set to level 1 and put some distance from your dog ,it won't hot .

Poodle brush?user posted image

This 1 is more suitable if your poodle is long hair

yeap i am using the first brush. he goes to grooming occasionally when his fur gets too long. for now its only maybe an inch poofy. i've tried black hair shampoo but it's really hard to groom him after using black hair shampoo, the groomer said so too as she used the black hair shampoo for noodles once.

I see , your adopt poodle 2 years ,right? Maybe previous time he ate the bad dog food ,so.... doh.gif

Maybe you can try to fish base dog food or add some fish oil . Than the skin and coat will became better smile.gif

ya his previous owner sucks. they never even feed him normal dog kibbles, just like treats everyday.........

so when i brought him to the groomer the first time, she said he has very little fur compared to other poodles. i think he was very malnourished and dropped alot of fur.

took me awhile to actually get him to eat kibbles. now hes fatter, healthier and is growing more fur! just a little thick and hard to comb at times.

this is him now smile.gif user posted image
