How did/will you celebrate your child's 1st birthday?
Is it an elaborate one? small do..with just close family and friends?
I celebrated my son's 1st birthday (last year) by doing a barbecue with family members. We had a birthday cake plus some cupcakes.
I don't think an elaborate one (like a whole themed party with clowns etc) is ideal as they don't remember and usually 1st and 2nd birthday's are for the parents.

u r right abt the kids being too young to remember.. so we had a simple do at home with 80pax..all relatives only (imagine that!)
thought of skipping it, but got pressure from family to do it cos sanju is eldest grandson for both mine and hubby's side... plus relatives are usually quite generous with gifts and angpow..so whatver.. lol

I didnt want to celebrate, intend to save money but my husband said for every child's first birthday must do.
We will have one at home with family and close friends, no clowns / balloons. Just catering and cake.

nicKit..your in-laws very odd lar.. i thought they would be so eager to celebrate their 1st grandson's 1st birthday?? My case was a bit sad...my MIL wasn't aroudn..decided to go to London..even though we have told her 1 month in advance. 2weeks before the birthday, she said that she's going to London..and apologized that she can't attend..though she wanted to celebrate (WTF? then why go to London during that time..right?) Anyways... Hubby is still upset with her

I went to my husband's nephew's daughter's 2nd birthday party last 2 months..they had it in KidsZone in Plaza Damas...
It's a good idea...provided that you have friends/family with kids...anyways..we adults had fun too!

i did let my boy have some of the cake, he loves chocolate

I only gave xander a really small bite (coz he was sick)..and another reason why i ordered the choc ganache..is mainly coz the attendees were adults! kekeekek..so..the cake were based on the adults' taste..ekekek.
I think mille crepe is fine..a unique cake..
