So happy with my sensation now.Rooted and over clocked to 1.5 ghz and the battery life is sooooooooooo much better after setting profiles in setcpu. Can't wait for S - Off
*
Hi does rooting void the warranty?, if it doesn't can you point me somewhere where I can read up about it and a guide on how to do it and all?

I just got it yesterday and as expected, the battery drains really fast even on GSM and no 3G, but other than that I'm really happy with this phone, solid as heck!...other gripe was finding a screen protector that actually fits, i went to a HTC specialized store and they said even for original screen protector it doesnt stick properly..therefore can i have suggestions to my problem here?

is 'setcpu' a downloadable app?

sorry really noob here on these things

Thanks alot =D

it look easy seeing the guy at Cubic Platform applying the ori HTC SP to my Sensation..emmm..

no bubbles even at the contour edges?...i forced the bubbles out using 3 credit cards (so that one card wont break if i apply too much force) pressing on a folded lint free cloth and brushed the edges/top,bottom...got MOST of it out but the top and bottom still got some due to the uneven glass surface...give up already, hand painful doing all that lol

If you're rough with your phone, or just generally a klutz, get tough, it's not really all that thick, and the textured surface makes it really nice to hold.

Barely there is nice as well and I reckon pretty okay for SMALL drops, bumps etc. The surface is smooth but it also provides a nice grip.

I picked barely there because it's easier to get outta my pockets lol, tough was a pain to take out of my pockets, unless I'm wearing them old school slacks when I go to work, which is almost never lol.

Besides, no matter how tough the case if you drop it screen side also no use mah...just be careful lor =D.

about battery charge, charge as often as you can, the lesser the difference between charges, the longer your battery life is. Mine's always plugged whenever I'm not going anywhere.

yes I did XD

word of warning thou: Please follow the instructions EXACTLY and be PATIENT"

some steps might take longer time, around 10-15 minutes u will see the HTC logo stuck there. Dun touch it and wait patiently and everything will sort itself out.
*
Okay let me do a check list of things to do, First I need to S-Off, can i refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 for that?

After that i need to s-off radio?, or is that optional?

then finally flash the rom.

S-off radio no need, that 1 is to unluck the phone to use with any sim card. Our's is already unlocked at factory.

For custom rom, u dun need to do the rooting, just flash the custom rom, the custom rom will include the root function.
*
Ohhhh...so I just need to S-Off and I can flash already....is there any way to back up original things (roms etc) for warranty purposes?

Edit: Its downloading CWM now, how long does this take?, I hate it when they don't show a percentage, makes you so nervous.

Hahahaha I'm on Revolution HD too now!, I chose to wipe because i wanted it to be clean again, nothing much to lose anyway, everything can be downloaded again and my contacts are backed up.

Btw, how do I set the cpu speed etc those kinda things?

actually once you s-off ad flash custom rom its rooted already, if you wanna revert just flash the original stock rom that you can download from a link a forumer provided above.

Is this what they call a temporary root?, as far as i understand the root comes with the custom ROM.

Here is the forumer =D

Don't worry so much and just do it, after you finish it you will think back and say "WTF!, I was worrying for nothing, its so damn easy!" and you're probably gonna install tons of ROMS after that hahahaha.

Cheers.

It's not related at all whether s off or on with the warranty. smile.gif

Rooting is going to affect the warranty though.

So if I flash back to factory ROM after using ARHD ROM will the phone still be considered 'rooted'?

Btw I can't turn on my phone on the ac charger after i turn it off, also when its on the ac charger. Have to unplug the cable and reinsert the battery. Don't know this happened after flashing because I never did it before until today.
