Yup do that because if you dont you'll never know if it would affect your eczema. Most perfumes have allergens such as linalool and limonene, but in general avoid perfumes that has bergamot listed as a note because that is a well known allergen.
*
Is that true? Bergamot is an allergen? What other things should be avoided just in case?

QUOTE(Joey-kun @ Mar 7 2013, 01:02 PM)
Sometimes its just the nose getting used to the smell. If you get poor longevity, increase the amount of sprays until you get it to last. It differs from scent to scent. Some scents i have to use up to 9-10 sprays to last on me.
*
9-10 sprays? That sounds a lot..really a lot

I find Issey Miyake to be a bit too strong. Yes I tried it out just by spraying it on a strip of paper, and that is only the opening note, but if I don't even like the opening note, I won't care whether if spray on skin it would have gone to middle or base note or whatever, I just won't like it. While Bvlgari Aqva smells ok, but I just associate it with those cheap perfumes like Adidas Ice Dive colognes. Armani Code is what I'm liking now

Just Parfum in Mid Valley or Sunway Pyramid, do they sell genuine perfumes?

One question: Anyone use YSL La Nuit here and is it suitable for daily perfume to wear for work/uni?

^^

No idea about Just Parfum, would like to know as well. I think there are also some small retail in 1u selling perfumes, would like to know if they sell ori / fake ? if any1 knows....

As for YSL La nuit, tried it before several times. Bought l'homme instead.

But yes, can be used for work & uni but better to stay indoors during the day. Do whatever u want with it during the night =).

My personal take on La Nuit is that it is an awesome scent but I find it hard to pull it off in hot weather.
*
It's more of a night scent(fall/winter frangrance) is it that's why it's hard to pull off in our hot weather unless we only wear it out at night?

Yes precisely. I find la nuit to be quite intense. But if I have more chance/occasion  to use it I would buy it, no question.
*
Ok how about Burberry London vs Armani Code? Which would u pick for daily perfume?

Or personally, what do u use for everyday use?

to me London is more of a daytime, i do carry a decant around due to its dreaded longevity, code is more a nite use... Just like la nuit, kinda hard to apply during hot days as it will get cloying...

Daily use.... Millesime Imperial... opps is Unforgivable tongue.gif
*
I see, any other perfume that is suitable for daily, daytime use to wear for work/school/anywhere? There are a lot of nice perfumes, but a lot of perfumes must see what is the setting suitable for it..that's why hard to choose

QUOTE(kelthuzad @ Apr 9 2013, 09:45 PM)
not really.i use la nuit in the day before,i use armani code ultimate in the day before as well, which is more stronger than the regular code.to me they are still ok,i have more potent stuffs that i cannot wear in the day unless in air-con whole time
*
I see, but would it give headaches for others? That is important, maybe some people can get headache if they smell too strong perfume on you

One more question: Any brick and mortar shops in Klang Valley where I can get free samples of perfumes? biggrin.gif You know, maybe I want to just use a particular scent for once or twice only, don't want to buy a whole bottle

as long as u stay indoors most of the time, using la'nuit on a hot sunny day should not be an issue. Just dont spray too much.

Currently, i use Chanel AHSEE for daily wear. Also Versace EF.
Sometimes l'homme.

Lacoste Blanc when sports and casual.
*
Well that's the thing, I would spend some time outdoors too, and under our hot weather ,we sweat very easily. I heard some ppl say La Nuit can make ppl get headaches because it's quite sweet or heavy when it's hot.

QUOTE(edwardleong @ Apr 10 2013, 02:33 AM)
For me, i just dont care, since most of my time will be in office, if not on the road driving... so i do use dior homme intense, amouage epic, Eax de baux etc as long i like the scent... well just like bro Mantis say: be considerate and gentle on the sprayer...

i had encounter before, in my department got ppl wearing le male, 1 mill to work
*
I don't spray too much. How much do u guys spray and where?

Well Le Male and 1 Mil is common isn't it? So surely office ppl got wear

It is hard for us to recommend when you have not stated your preference.

For hot weather outdoorsy category, try Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey for citrus fresh, or Lacoste Essential for green fresh or Bvlgari Aqva for aquatic freshness.

For cooler weather you have tons of choices, La Nuit, A*Men, DHI, Le Male, 1 Million.

For me I usually stick to 2-3 sprays. It is subtle and people only detect when they are close tome. Anything more then I start to get unfavourable comments from colleagues.
*
My preference? Maybe more towards citrus/aquatic and not too manly or those that smell too generic.

I don't find Bvlgari Aqva and Leau d Issey very nice to be honest..I prefer Armani Code even though I don't know if this is a hot weather outdoorsy perfume

If I can stay indoors or under aircon for longer time, I would choose La Nuit. But I don't smile.gif Or maybe I think I would buy Burberry London

2-3 sprays, where do u spray?

You say u are more to citrus/aquatic but none of your picks reflects that LOL. Seems like you like dark fragrances more. I would recommend to check out another dark designer, F by Ferragamo Black by Salvatore Ferragamo.

It is recommemded that you spray it at your pulse points e.g neck, wrist, inner elbow. Some even spray at hair, chest, underarm.

I am the minority here, certain frag I spray on my neck and elbow, but most of the time I spray on my clothes as it lasts longer plus I don't like the idea of syntetic materials in these frag seeping into my skin too much.
*
I don't know, if I say in general, I like citrus/aquatic smells. But I'm not knowledgeable in perfumes, and so I pick what smells nice and have good reviews on the internet. So far La Nuit and Amani Code definitely fits that bill. And I want a perfume that is suitable for youths(young adult age, not mature age) and maybe for sports too, because I go outdoors a lot and sweat buckets. So basically I want a perfume that's more suitable for youths not mature men, a perfume that can make me still smell good after sweating outdoors and a perfume that doesn't give headaches to me or others when under hot sun, but must also be good for indoors/aircon. Everyone here, do give more suggestions smile.gif

And damn right with ur sentence in bold man, that's what I think too. Chemicals in the perfumes...not sure if safe for long-term. But when u spray, u would inhale the particles too anyway. What is ur opinion on that? And I thought u perfume lovers never spray on clothes because it is not the same or something like that

QUOTE(kelthuzad @ Apr 10 2013, 08:48 PM)
if u like la nuit, then why dont use l'homme for day use?bvlgari extreme is a very long lasting day scent, wont offend ppl too if u overspray it
*
YSL l'homme and bvlgari extreme, alright would try checking them out biggrin.gif

I had wanted a perfume just to get the chicks. But I figure that it's better to be natural, don't mask our pheromones with chemical scents. If u think that perfumes can attract some girls, it can also turn off some girls who are allergic to it. So why not give all girls a level playing field? Just don't spray anything. No one's going to be allergic to natural smells. Just take good care of oral hygiene, bath twice a day, wear fresh clothes, look decent, and we would be attractive. Another important thing is confidence. And it's not necessary that men get confidence just from the perfume they are wearing. Confidence can also come from deep within ourselves or the knowledge that we are able to do something.

That's my conclusion. So basically, I'm not going to wear anything already. Save me the trouble of picking the right scent. Plus going natural won't give anyone headaches or turn off anybody who might be allergic to it. Like I said, give all girls a neutral smell biggrin.gif

Haha ... in this thread, we all wear perfume because we appreciate the art, not because we want to impress girls.

But if you want to use it to impress girls, you can't go wrong with safe scents that are not too overpowering or intense and going easy on the trigger. That way you won't offend  the sensitive noses.
*
Ya I know u guys are perfume enthusiasts who just likes fragrances. I was just saying. laugh.gif

But I think there are girls who don't like any perfume at all or prefer natural/no smell. And what if they are hot? You end up turning them away tongue.gif

you came to ask for suggesions what to wear, and then here you said your conclusion is not to wear anything.so may i ask whats the reason you are here?

if you are saying what if some hot girls dislike you for what perfume you are wearing, then do you bring a few different clothes around to wherever you go to??cause those hot chicks might not like what you are wearing on your body as well,or do you go around naked, going natural all the way?if a girl doesnt like you,no matter what you wear or dont wear, they will still dislike you,so why not smell nice for your own pleasure and to hell with those chicks?will you reject a hotchick that you like but she wears a scent that you hated?and one more tips for you, fragrance is a very good and easy opener to chat with chicks.i have not met any girls that say 'hey, your sweat smells nice" before, its always "what perfume you wearing"
*
I was here to ask what perfume to wear, then I change my mind. laugh.gif

I don't see why hot chicks might not like what you are wearing. I mean, what can they not like in certain clothes? That's pretty shallow. And clothes is a different thing compare to perfume. Let's not compare.

I don't find pleasure in smelling nice. I prefer using nothing at all.

So u are saying that u have met a lot of chicks that ask u what perfume u are wearing?

Well i do agree... putting up a nice, seductive scent wont get you a chick, but it does give u an extra edge charming, that extra boost... Goggle abit, a true gentleman do smell nice btw

Girls wont reject any scent and stay neutral as long it is not overpowering... When i first started dating my gf, i use polo romance silver on our first date, she told me i smell damn nice, please wear it everytime u see me lol  biggrin.gif
*
What perfumes do true gentleman in suits wear by the way? I would like to know haha biggrin.gif

Of course ur gf would like ur smell. I'm talking about random chicks

lol u changed your mind pretty quick then.then i think you should start a thread for guys with natural smell, not at perfume for guys thread.
not intentionally, but do get a lot of them asking bout the scent i am wearing.my job is to meet people,so its normal
*
Yea I changed my mind about wearing perfumes. But if I start a thread about guys with natural smell, there won't be anything to talk about. Natural smell means not putting anything at all. So what is there to talk about? Nothing laugh.gif

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Apr 12 2013, 11:16 PM)
Since when wearing perfume's main objective is to attract women? I get more luck without an underwear.
*
Oh yea? Do elaborate more. You drop ur underwear every time u see a hot chick? laugh.gif

QUOTE(kelthuzad @ Apr 13 2013, 12:58 AM)
since quite some time.so many "top 10 panty dropper scents" "top 10 most complimented" and other top 10s video to garner the attention of the opposite sex.if there are so many of videos and topic like that at basenotes/fragrantice,then i think many will use it to attract attention.so it is since.....quite some time already
*
Oh yea I've actually been to BaseNotes to read two threads, one in Male Frag, one in Female frag section..with the title of 'which perfume gets u the most compliment' and 'which perfume do girls like the most. It was an interesting read, although there were so many pages, so I just read the first and the last page laugh.gif

I was trying to see which is the perfume that can get the most chicks too like them, but then I gave up la..different perfume attracts different girls..so I thought I might as well go natural. laugh.gif
