Wa.... so fast V2 already!!!
Ah..... the question i asked yesterday regarding the position of the 2 USB3.0 ports.... didnt see the reply yet and when i check back now... already V2.... T.T
Mind any owner of dv6-6114tx please tell me where is the location of the 2 USB3.0 ports? Is it on the right hand side with the BD drive? Or on the left hand side with the DVI/HDMI/LAN port?

It is on the left side, you will notice there is a logo something like SS represents the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 slots.

Have a question to ask... for the dv6( i assume that it is the same for all dv6-6XXX variants) what is the name of the wifi network adapter?
Because i am thinking of using the new HP wifi mobile mouse with my upcoming dv6... Checked that the mouse would require a windows 7 certified network adapter. The list can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibi...ts=50&os=64-bit
So... anyone know about it?

If i'm not mistaken.. 6114TX and 6108TX use Broadcom wifi adapter and 6001TX use Ralink RT5390.

None of that brand is in the compatibility list. doh.gif

TL-WN721N is USB wifi adapter. Just plug it into your USB port. laugh.gif

Cheers for those who wish to use the HP wifi mobile mouse (me is one of them) with their dv6.
I just checked at the software and driver section of hp malaysia for the dv6. It seems that the drivers are meant to make our wifi adapter to be win7 compatible... so i think after the driver update, your wifi adapter would then be win7 compatible (because if not compatible, you would be facing problems/errors when connecting to wifi network... correct me if im wrong) brows.gif

1. No, only for online purchase.
2. Yes, another 4GB is free.
3. It's an offsite warranty where you need to send the laptop to the service center on your own instead of they send the technician to your house like what Dell did.
4. No, you have to create it by yourself once you got your laptop by using the dedicated software.
*
o.O... you answerd some of my questions as well... have been pondering whether my dv6-6114tx would come in 4GB or 8GB for awhile now... Because it mentioned that it comes preinstalled... haha.... so meaning total when you get your laptop, it would be 8GB?

OK guys, I hereby confirmed that the CoolSense permanent fixed mode issue has been solved with the latest BIOS / HP Support Assistance where we do not need to select and apply the mode every time we boot up the laptop. It is a real good update for me, as I find the CoolSense is really good in cooling down the temperature from the Coolest Mode, so with this update, it eliminates me to open the CoolSense application and select and apply the mode every time I boot up my laptop.
*
Edit: It seems the problem still persists... Hmm.... thanks to reevephon for the double confirmation notworthy.gif

Im going to get this package n wondering have to buy the carepack or not,
if without the carepack, the laptop will have no warranty? as u all experience, is it worth to get the carepack?
pls advise ~~~ many thks ~~~~~~
*
The default package currently offered does not have the carepack. By default, its warranty is 1 year. You need to send it to HP service center yourself.
If you scared of spoiling your laptop or dont want to go through all the hassle to send it yourself, you can get the carepack with onsite support.
But in my opinion, just use your laptop with care, treat it well and take good care of it and the default 1 year warranty would suffice. Unless it is hardware failure (hdd failure etc.) that cannot be controlled... smile.gif

Oh well.. Everyone is getting themselves DV6...  huh.gif  I never deal online b4.. HP Pavilion dv6-6114TX <-- Thinking abt order this.. Still available? Sigh... Is it safe to get one? I am from sarawak.. If i need warranty,I need to send back to whr? hmmm...  lust.gif
*
Well, here also first time dealing with online purchasing. Please check at the hp online store for availability (currently still have).
If you need to claim the warranty, you have to send back to hp service center, or better still, call them up and ask where to send (before you make the order, then you can think whether is it comfortable for you to purchase online, if it is very far from where you stay, better get from retail shop, easier to service) hmm.gif

Electronic devices are very delicate and mostly cannot sustain falls or accidental drops. You should try to be CAREFUL now since you're an owner of one of the best 15.6" notebook currently in the market cool.gif

wow all this dynamic switching issue being fronted here makes me wish that I can take back my order and get a full refund...

wonder if thats possible..

I was looking at the latest dell xps, however the price is at rm3800 for a i5 processor whereas the hp 6114tx is at the same price + the headphones and has an i7 processor...but all this dynamic switching problems is kinda worrying me. More so when I'm a Maya and 3dstudio max user and both programs uses openGL. I realize that the graphics card is suitable for gaming and not for 3d applications, but Im treating this laptop as my work companion....do you guys think its still ok for me to purchase this hp laptop? even with the dynamic switching issue with openGL programs?
*
Haih.... me also worrying about the "dynamic switching" issue with the dv6-6114tx cry.gif
All these while while i was waiting for my dv6 to come.... was thinking of playing many games... but argh.... this annoying issue.... vmad.gif
Hope HP can realize that their perception of "well, who dont like automatic? so, we make the system to choose for you, no fuss, correct?" and release a patch/update/firmware or whatever in the near (and i mean very very very NEAR) future to ease this tiny yet annoying flaw.... mad.gif
The 6114tx is really near perfect.... if only this problem is absent.... cry.gif

Me too me too.... still praying~~~~ cry.gif
Really hope the nuts at HP would realize this situation and provide the "manual switching or automatic switching" option A.S.A.P....

Hei guys, I've ordered the HP Pavilion dv6-6114TX NB PC but I've forgotten to put the E-Coupon, and I've used Direct Deposit and I've not payed anything yet...

Should I call to HP and cancel my order or wait for the 14 days-Order cancellation?

based on the below T&C, if the order is a confirmation but has not been payed and delivered, I do have my right to cancel and avoid any payments to HP right?

10) The Order will be treated as cancelled if HP does not receive full payment for the Order by the 14th day after order confirmation.

11) However, should the Order herein be cancelled by Customer within 14 days from date of acknowledgement of such order by HP and prior to delivery of the Products, HP reserves the right to charge Customer a cancellation fee of fifteen percent (15%) of the value of the order

By the way this is the T&C for Direct Deposit

6. HP will process your order and ship your equipment immediately, pending availability, upon clearance of payment.
So if no payment clearance means no Order Processed means after 14-days-Order Cancellation will be implied and no charges will be imposed to the customer right?
*
Dont worry, i have encountered the same problem as you. Call HP customer service first thing in the morning. Then try solve the problem with them.
