Hi everyone,

My dad's iPhone cannot access Message. After pressing the Message button at the lower tray, its shows empty at all except unresponsive "Compose" button and eventually close down by itself to front page.

May I know what is the culprit in this case and how to solve this problem?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Today I tried following those steps, and it end up with Error 3194:
QUOTE
Error 3194: Resolve error 3194 by updating to the latest version of iTunes. "This device is not eligible for the requested build" in the updater logs confirms this is the root of the issue. For more Error 3194 steps see: This device is not eligible for the requested build above.

May I know what I have to do now? I'd planned to restore it to iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.

the link that i given to u is the latest ios for iphone 4....for ur info u will only able to update or restore to the latest ios(ios 4.3.5) UNLESS ur dad iphone 4 is jailbroken before n the shsh blobs is saved before...
so when u have finish download the ipsw open itunes and click ur device, hit shift and click update and then browse the ipsw file that u have download before...  nod.gif

Ahh thats explain why I am keep getting that error. I did intentionally try to restore to outdated which is actually my dad's current iOS because I am afraid the latest iOS won't be able to be jailbreak.

Is 4.3.5 is jailbreakable?

I think we need more info from Mr Docter on his dad's phone current firmware, what updated firmware he wanna restore to, and why the need to update....

The iPhone details are : Version = 4.2.1 , Modem Firmwire = 03.10.01.

The main reason why I want to restore it is because something wrong with Message. It won't responding once I pressed it; it hanged and quit by itself.

Thanks in advance, for both of you!
