can make 0% installment anytime with bank AFTER you have bought the phone?

This action is not suppose to make 0% installment BEFORE you buy it in that particuar shop?? or spend anything also can call for installment ?(mean 1k & above)

This offer only valid for UOB credit card holder?? As I know, if you make installment after bought the phone, there will be extra charge, right??

If you convert your purchase to epp after you bought it from merchant, lets say 12 months, you are bound to this card for 12 months, you cant cancel it unless you want to settle your epp earlier which is subject to RM50 admin charge.

In other words, you definitely need to fork  out RM50 to pay gst which actually can be offset upon request. When you calculate the cost of converting into epp, please take this into consideration
*
There is no extra charge for installment made? if involved to 12 months installment, I also can use this card for other purchases until the credit limit is reach, right?

This is only offer for UOB credit card for 0% installment after purchased or other cc also can do that? Because i have made installment before, they are able covert to EPP when purchasing, but not AFTER convert to EPP.

Zero percent interest instalment plan are usually available at participating merchants, usually only on certain banks, if you dont have that bank's cc then no zero percent instalment plan for you. If merchant does not provide instalment plan, then you can call banks to inquire bout epp after making a purchase, however not all banks have such epp plan.

Uob has such epp plan but they will incur up front charges, maybe 2% depends on the length of the epp. I feel that it is not worth it unless you are really running out of cash.

Usually the full amount of the purchase transaction will be locked upon enrolment to instalment plan or epp and amount will be reduced when you settle your monthly outstanding
*
ya I have exp this before as I don't have any credit card yet in two years back and wanna to buy a phone for installment, so I have to borrow cc from friend and try call to bank for make installment but end up I only pay by cash instead, due to extra charge will be in place.

But nowadays quite number of banks offer for 0% installment for many of shop, so we can make it possible try not get extra charge from banks, unless suddenly need to make installment AFTER purchased.

Thanks for your sharing!! thumbup.gif

seriously, those shops that offer you 0% instalment plan are still making money because they charge you retail price where as you actually can buy the phone at a cheaper rate at LYN garage sales section.  the price difference can be of RM100 to RM300.

simple example, you can use Citibank card to buy a S3 at Senheng/SenQ with RM52.75 * 36 instalments = RM1,899, whereas you can buy from garage sales at RM16xx cash.  the difference of RM2xx can be described as the interest for the instalment plan
*
Seriously???? shocking.gif shocking.gif

but will check the price current market value now before go to get a phone, the phone of price also same with market between the retail shops?

So you mean better don't make for installment IF you are in under financial?

Is this price difference for all items which can be make for installment or only certain items??

this is what i noticed from the 0% instalment plan offered by majority merchants.  their price are usually higher than cash price, you really need to make comparisons before buying
the difference is just too obvious if you compare the retail price with garage sales/lelong
*
for sure will make the comparison first before go for it.

But sometimes 0% installment not bad for making too, as we can save moeny to bank for monthly installment or for somewhere else for necessary purpose, assume you are buying few thousand of item such as furniture, you could be enjoying its services, just like get service first but pay after.

Different people different thinking, at least under financial control, right??? biggrin.gif

Why bother to carry 6 cards

6 cards x RM50 GST = RM300 paid to govt pocket every year.

Carry what you need la.

One for every day usage - cash rebate card
Another for airport lounge (In case you love to travel and want to enjoy the lounge) or some special offer (Citi Blue for their Coffee Bean 1 to 1 offer)
Another for dining offers (We are Malaysians, we live to eat).  drool.gif

Personally, i only carry 2 cards. UOB One card is one of them coz i can get cash rebate anytime i spend the card. Consolidate all my spend in 1 card and make sure i will make payment to avoid late charges and finance charges. Another is Citi Blue coz i am a hardcore CB lover (See you there)

Too many card only confuses our life.
*
I would say this is depend on your needed only.

Somebody need it, but somebody no necessary to hold many cards.

Yes, although there have GST u need to pay but some of the cards get you rebate or reward point, so that u can redeem from there, as long as the card is benefit u all the way no matter how many cards u hold smile.gif

New application's annual fee is waived for 2 years??

And can I register for UOB online banking if I only have credit card account?
*
Not sure about waiver for 2 years,

but I just know will be offset the GST & annual fee if you use 12 times and above within a year.

Think so, so far I have registered for internal banking for two types of credit cards.
