applied the UOB one but after reading got lots of fullfillment started to worry. now got letter said that application rejected. save my trouble. lesson learned : read review first before applying to any card no matter how flowery the promoter put it

What is the fuss of this card? This is purely straightforward card with cash rebates, of course not as great as ocbc.

If your supporting income documents are strong, what is the point not having this card?

Im using both UOB One Card and MBB2card. The UOB One card is not as good as before already unless you have the platinum card and places that is included in $mart merchant. For One Card, the 5% petrol rebate is capped at RM20 only drop from RM30. Other feature by this card except cinema lose out to MBB2card.

#Savings for maximize petrol rebate for 1 year = 12x20 = RM240.
#RM240 - RM50 GST (no point at all to offset) = RM190.
#In case if they dont waive/not eligible 60x usage per year will be charged annual fee.

Just my personal opinion tho. I still swipe the UOB whenever place that does not accept amex. 0.3% for all other transaction vs 1x point on MBB Visa/Master = 0.5% is meh... In terms of customer support at branches, UOB act more professionally.

since when uob reduce the cash back for petrol from 600 to 400 or capped at rm 30 to rm 20 ? you have any most recent proof to show it ? does the smart cash of 2% in bhp affected as well ?

i just checked uob website, nothing indicate about the revision of cashback there.

secondly, UOB will absorb the 50 gst.

thirdly, where on earth in malaysia will charge you annual fees ? you first time utilise credit card ?

this is not an argue, i am just comparing your statement with my personal usage experiences.

1. u said petrol rebate capped at rm 20, but, my statement till May still get RM 30 REBATE on fuel. you never mentioned if platinum or other card. i believe most people using platinum card, right ?

2. i do not know anything about cinema, as i very seldom go to cinema.

3. 60 times swipe for annual fees waived. i been using credit cards for more than 10 years, for the past 10 years, i never ever pay annual fees in those years.

come on, think about it, u are helping bank to make profits, at the same time, u get some saving in term of rebate and points, yet u still want to pay fees to the blood sucking bank ?

remember, our blr is still one of the top at 6.6%. if you have a housing loan, u make your own calculation of the amortization system, u will be very surprised how much Bank make profit from you.
