QUOTE(ronnie @ Jul 26 2012, 10:52 PM) For the first 2 years don't need to worry... but after 2 years, we won't know the new ruling. QUOTE(Desirene @ Jul 27 2012, 08:11 AM) Mine is classic, but I think same rule apply to platinum la. QUOTE(mohdshafie00 @ Jul 27 2012, 09:04 AM) i can double confirm on this. called CS just now, need to swipe at least 3 times within 60 days, RM50 will be credited to account within 6-8 weeks This is great. Dont have to worry about AF for the 1st two years.

I am not surprise that many are complaining about having problems to offset GST. When I was at UOB to open FD, even the bank teller and personal banker blatantly promote this card by stating GST is waived.

QUOTE(S'aimer @ Sep 20 2012, 01:09 PM) Ya, I wonder if I can pick on this Rm50 govt charge with BNM since I also have to pay Rm50 charge for the new card as well once I have cancelled the old card I really don't understand whats with the Rm50 govt svc charge per card - don't they ever consider the consumer's rights pertaining to being issued the wrong card and its not even their fault? For your case, if you have evidence that it is the bank's fault for giving you the wrong card, send an email to their customer service about this and cc to bank negara.

QUOTE(S'aimer @ Sep 20 2012, 11:28 PM) Bro, I have evidence la - the original application form is with me as i faxed the forms to the uob card center in kl. When i got the wrongly issued credit card, i called UOB KL CS about it. The CS said the lady's card has more benefits than One Classic card. After I examined the lady's card benefits and find that the benefits are more beneficial to those living in KL than other states in malaysia and I am not even living in KL. I told the KL CS I insist on having the correct card. The KL CS then said will ask the manager on this issue which was then given the green light by the manager to change the lady's card to one classic. They also called me to ask me to go to the local branch in my area to change, along with a letter of request from me to the branch. The JB CS listen to our story and instead, didnt even change the card on the spot even i told them the UOB KL inform me to do so - this is what i call throw the buck to another party and it goes back to same party in the end. To cut it short, there was supposed to be no charge and it would be waived as informed by the JB CS in person back then as mentioned in my previous post. Because I called them to enquire about my card issue after waiting two weeks from my visit to the JB Branch, it turns out I have to pay the RM50 charge for the wrongly issued card through no fault of mine. So can you imagine i am really unhappy being given the goose chase to find out this is the result? That is why i want to complain about the stupid govt svc tax ruling and take it up with BNM but i am also concerned that would it create new problems for me based on my issue with either bank or BNM? The issue here is not about the GST ruling, so there is no need to make a complain about that. The issue here is about the bank issued a wrong card to you. You want the UOB lady card to be terminated and you dont want to bear the cost due to the bank's mistake. Focus on this. Please be clear about this. p/s you a lady? QUOTE(S'aimer @ Sep 20 2012, 11:49 PM) Yes i am a lady. You have asked me whether I have evidence and this is my response on the bank's CS handling of the matter that has led to this result. That is why i am asking if i can take it up with BNM or not and whether it will create new problems for me with either bank or BMM because it is my first time appying for a cc in malaysia ok, because only ladies are eligible for that card and i will if they did a mistake on that too. Yes, you can take it up with Bank Negara as it is a mistake on the bank's part. Don't worry, there will not be any major problem. If the bank refuses to approve your application for other cards, just apply elsewhere. I would not even bother to head over the branch to explain as I would just file an official complain. QUOTE(S'aimer @ Sep 21 2012, 10:42 AM) I'm trying to see where I can make an official complain to BNM now. Either you email to the bank and cc to BNM, or email to BNM directly. bnmtelelink@bnm.gov.my

This is actually a different case. Yours is a clear cut mistake on their side. But this, is getting a classic instead of a plat so it could be because their risk analysis guy think something else. Best is to call us CS and inquire further.

QUOTE(S'aimer @ Oct 14 2012, 11:46 PM) True, mine was a clear cut mistake on their side since both cards in my case have the same annual income requirement. I'm wondering whether CS will follow up on bank decision to issue another card, with the customer? I mean it would be less troublesome and easier for customers to accept other cards if not their preferred card? Call CS is to get to know whether is it a mistake or otherwise. I do not know about the bank's policy whether the customer can reject the card or still have to pay the GST in this case, so better speak to them. It is always a good idea to state clearly during application that if it is rejected, you do not want other cards.

The cashback for UOB one card is credited according to statement month or calendar month?
edit: found my answer Cash Rebates earned will automatically offset your UOB ONE Card balance of the immediate month’s statement cycle.

QUOTE(miraclejustin @ May 2 2013, 09:43 PM) Actually, this is my 2nd card. The sales person told me that they wont charge me anything if I did not activate the card. That why I felt cheated and emotional when received the bill statement. Some agents will say anything to push their sales. So better read the terms properly or get black and white for anything

How many days it takes for UOB to process your card application? And how do they inform you whether it is approved or not? Wondering if I can still make the RM50 cash back sign up promotion.

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Jun 24 2013, 11:20 AM) I think should be based on your application date, not approved date Remember when I applies for CitiB, the SA told me is based on application date no idea with others bank from the T&C, it is the approval date. Anyway, I have made a note in my application that it will be void if the approval / disapproval decision cannot be made before the date

I was informed that the AF is waived for the 1st two years. Not sure this is for all new applications or for UOB Preferred Plat only

I beginning to think it is impossible to get to speak to the CS agent. The call centre is always busy. UOB don't have a dedicated toll free line?
