Hi bro 9M-MAS,

I'm planning to get a proper Outdoor antenna for DVB-T2. I'm planning to use my LED TV (LG 60LF630T) as the receiving end.

What's the criteria, do's and dont's of getting outdoor antenna? for example, frequency range, gain etc..

Also, I'm in kajang, so if Mytv trial signal able to be received? How do I know if I'm getting the signal coz I've been reading the forum and realised that sometimes the trial signal goes down and up?

thanks.

I am not an antenna expert, but I recommend getting an externally powered UHF antenna,  outdoor if possible.  Get one with as much gain as you can afford. One with controllable direction with remote is recommended.

I strongly discourage getting a UHF/VHF combo fishbone antenna (one with separate fishbone rows for VHF and UHF).  If you can,  look for a specific purpose digital TV antenna.  This type is not in widespread sale yet in Malaysia,  but I've seen a few places selling them (though not cheap). I source such antennas from Thailand where they are relatively cheap and plenty of choices to choose from.

I'm sure others can add more meaningful tips.

Kajang is well within range of the three muxes meant for Klang Valley at 666,682 and 698MHz. Try aligning your antenna in such way that it is in the general direction (preferably with unobstructed line of sight) of KL tower or Genting Highlands

Thanks bro.

YAKAKI ANTENNA

So guys, just to update. I'm in Kajang using LG TV LF630T. Also purchased the above antenna for RM40 (had some promo last month). Installed the antenna on Friday with a 8 feet pole. It was easy. No rotation was required. Plug and play. All DTV channels scanned and perfect!

I tried to rotate the blade but no difference, meaning in this case the signal was strong. I would recommend this to all. biggrin.gif

Anyone for getting signal in Kajang? Mine seems to be blank. Could be my antenna however before going up the roof, would like to check if any issues with the signal.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I'm from Kajang and have been able to get all channels however for 1 week I'm not able to get any RTM channels, any idea? Signal is able to receive all other channels except all RTm channels including radio.

Edit: it's ok guys, looks like I had to manually scan RTM channels.all good now, stranger why auto didn't pick up any RTM channels.
