In sarawak here......when I told my co-workers about digital switchover.....they asked, "Why is our government want to turn off analog signal and force us to buy expensive decoder?"

I told them, "Bandwidth efficiency, clearer audio/image, free up channel bandwidth for other purpose".

They looked up and asked, " What the hell are those? " Their responses:

1) Kan TV pakai aerial punya quality okay je?
2) Apa pula tu 'bandwidth'?
3) TV broadcast sekarang okey je, buat apa nak tukar? Celaka betul kerajaan ni.
4) lepas channel bandwidth tu free, buat apa pula? apa kaitan dengan kita?
5) decoder tu mahal lah, kena bayar gst lagi tu.
6) Sikit je rancangan tv tu, tak berbaloi beli dekoder
7) Tu bukan siaran percuma, nak kita orang beli dekoder, apa beza dengan njoi pula. Njoi lagi banyak channel. 

They are mostly pissed off about buying new official expensive dvb-t2 decoder.
