Hi, anyone live Cheras/Kl? Does your signal OK? Since 2-3 days ago suddenly I can't get signal at all. - Using mini K2 -
*
PJ area, lost signal on 698MHz a couple days ago, 682Mhz has been down too for a long time. I thought it might be intermittent signal drop after all its still testing phase. Hence I didn't bother doing a thorough signal, using a SDR check until today.

Found out signals on 682Mhz and 698Mhz is dead, no broadcast. Signal on 666Mhz is back active (was turnoff some moons ago, didnt know when it was turned back on). From the looks from my SDR spectrum its still 8MHz wide, but still no dice tuning in using opensource project: tvheadend on linux. Must be something non standard with the signal... hmm.gif

Hooked back the DVB T2 tuner to PC (with proprietary tuner windows software) managed to get it working with stats showing broadcast at 666MHz with modulation changed to QAM256.

TLDR: they killed signals on 682MHz and 698Mhz (8MHz/QAM16), signal is active on 666Mhz (8Mhz wide, modulation changed from QAM16 to QAM256).

It was using my Internet connection? I so blur... I thought it was somehow able to pull data over the air like Astro tongue.gif
*
Well, it must had. There is only partial EPG data published OTA, (the offending ones missing is from media prima properties). Hence I'm not surprised if media prima decides to pull out (as someone mentioned earlier in this thread) of this free DTV broadcast service, they seemed uncommitted and disinterested in committing resources and man power for these extra features of digital OTA broadcasts of from the start.

PS: They already do have and publish the data on their website, just for 'some reason' not OTA

Njoi Now - MYTV competitor? The ad says its free for everyone on your PC, Smartphone & Tablet....and probably android tv

That reply has nothing to do with my post dry.gif

Njoi is Astro's 'free' satelite TV tier. Free as long as u dont mind to pay for that sat decoder and dish installation

Astro's own FAQ: http://www.astro.com.my/njoi/faq

> (SIC: Refurbished decoder) NJOI is available for a one-time payment of RM285 (GST incl.) at any authorised NJOI retailer. An additional RM100 standard installation fee applies.

> ((SIC: New decoder) NJOI is available for a one-time payment of RM350 (GST incl.) at any authorized NJOI retailer. An additional RM100 standard installation fee applies.

The EPG data is gather from the channel itself, not from Internet network.
*
Annoyingly: There IS NO mad.gif over the air EIT/EPG data present from ALL media prima (TV3, ntv7, 8TV) channels.

A user in this thread, has shown screenshots of DVBT in action on an approved device (dTV with a built in tuner) with a working EPG for those channels. If the info isn't in the OTA broadcast it must be retrieved through other means, ie. Internet. this:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Point is: I'm asking because its easier to make a EPG work with an official feed/api rather than writing a program to scrap the TV station's websites for epg data.

It must be from internet, where the smart TV connecting to wifi. I can confirm both my TV (with built-in digital tuner) and DVB-T2 set top box do not show EPG for Media Prima channels at this moment.
*
Yup that is my suspicion too. I just want to confirm WHERE FROM does the TV looks up EPG data. Any takers wanna help me with that?

Long story short, I using the raspberry pi to decode the dvbt2 broadcasts, the opensource PVR software: TVheadend does not have support for web EPG lookups for Malaysia. I'm trying to write a plugin for that. Hence I prefer to develop for a known good stable api/sanctioned/official way to get epg, rather than play the cat-and-mouse/whack-a-mole game with the EPG creators that keep on changing stuff

I'd like to help... but I have no idea how to access what my LG TV is doing sad.gif

I imagine it would be registered somewhere in the router's log? (it's running on the asusWRT-Merlin firmware)
*
A router would/could log dns queries. Tho what we want is a full http query. If the tv could be configured to take a proxy server, we could point it to a proxy server that you control and have it log queries made to it.

PS: on the side note of Internet of Things security prudence: it would be educational to learn about what your 'smart' digital TVs are sending out/reaching out into the internet to do
