The channel is SD, I know.

What I mean is, the original programme is in HD quality, but Media Prima airs it in SD.

Media Prima down converts HD to SD at the moment

It appears the transmitter at MYTV is still not ready for HD so Media Prima had to downconvert HD to SD which to me is ridiculous

My system has a dual antenna input (used for professional broadcast) and it has been super stable
I can even restream in full HD directly to YouTube or player supporting mpegts and hls

Possible to share more info on your dual antenna system? I'm interested in combining 2 antenna inputs to try to get Msian digital channels as I only managed to get Spore channels only in Jb
*
It's not commercially available bro as it costs as much as a Saga
Purely meant for transcoding purposes and restreaming via CDN

Thank you for your response. Could the rain have been causing this? It's weird that we have not been able to obtain a successful scan for a week. I'll do a manual search at 666MHz later and see if I find anything.

How should the antenna be pointed at the direction of the transmission tower? Along the axis of the fishbone?

Use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...napointer&hl=en
And if you are in Klang Valley and set final point lat to 3.1568731 and longitute 101.709604500
That would give you the direction of where the antenna should be pointed to

I suspect that poor quality on Media Prima channels might be due to some interlacing issues. They might send channels in 720p or 1080p (which is flagged correctly when on transmission) but when on transmission (which the signal is downconverted into 576i), such interlacing effects will appear. Since the picture quality when they broadcast 16:9/HD TV content is good, I suspect the artifacts was generated on transmission.

While it is now October 2017, no news for RTM channels in HD.
*
They send in 1080 but is being downconverted as you mentioned.
It all because currently MyTV is asking 10 mil per year per channel.

I think it is bandwidth issues that make Channel W broadcast on SD. As usual, disgusting watermarks added by MYTV.

When MYTV demands 10 million a year for Broadcasters to transmit Full HD - who wants to pay
