Nor "SIARAN UJIAN" added too. Enjoy while it lasts as they may add back "Siaran Digital" thing in anytime.

Still in 576i, not 1080i. Can't enjoy much πŸ˜‚

Hi, just installed digital antenna with my TV that has built in decoder.

I get around 10% signal level with 100% signal quality.
Occassionally I would lose the channel altogether.

Any idea what might cause this? Have already checked that the antenna is pointing towards the nearest transmitter (Bt. Sungai Besi - from Banting). Attached is the picture of my antenna in case it helps with the problem identification.

Thanks!
*
Try to change the antenna location? Or make the antenna higher. I also pointing to Bukit Sungai Besi from Bukit Changgang, Banting. Got 94% signal strength and 100% signal quality. Same antenna some more

QUOTE(9M-MAS @ Dec 4 2018, 08:32 PM)
Point it to Gunung Ulu Kali (Genting Highlands).
*
I think Bukit Sungai Besi is much better. Much closer

Previously was pointing to Bt Sg Besi, not that much directional difference. However line of sight was more disturbed by the roof.

Too hassle to find a longer stick or to relocate the antenna at different location as will need a new bracket.

So i guess ill stick with the current signal level, as if im not mistaken it does not change the viewing quality (as signal quality is still 100%). It only matters when the signal level/strength became too low that the channels drop altogether like what happened previously. Let me know if this is not true ya.

Thanks!
*
No wonder the signal strength is low because disturbed by roof.

Yep, the viewing quality will not be effected as long as you can get 100% signal quality. Before this, I installed my antenna indoor, can get around 20% signal strength and 80-90% signal quality. The channel drops when there are heavy rains. Don't know why. Maybe because of signal strength too low. Rain summore, can't penetrate my house. Lel. Change outside, never had any issue since then.

If the antenna can manage the signal strength above 20% most of the time, it should be fine.

What frequency did you scan? My location is KL but I did not get the test channels you mentioned after I did auto scan.
*
Channel 45 @ 666MHz. IINM, Menara KL transmitter only transmit on those frequency. Weird, I don't know how I got it πŸ€”

666MHz is the current frequency in Klang Valley that houses all existing channels in one MUX.

I tried both auto scan and manual scan, but didn’t get the extra test channels that you managed to receive.
*
Not sure though. Never rescan after setup it few months ago. Just set it to automatically add new channel if found. Btw, my antenna is facing to Bukit Sg Besi. Not Menara KL. πŸ˜…

Batang Kali, Menara KL and Bkt Sg Besi are on the same channel and broadcasting the same signal in SFN. From Banting the three are all in the same general direction
*
Not really. There's about few degree differences between Menara KL and Bukit Sg Besi from my home. Not so much and would bring any difference though. πŸ˜‚

Is there anyway to set auto add on the MYTV basic box?
*
Sorry. Not sure about that. Never use MYTV box. Maybe you can check on their setting? I'm using my TV tuner only

Ooh I got the test channel in different mux also. But seems like the transmitter is operating on very low power that my antenna in Kapar barely catches it.

This is taken from myfreeview.tv website.
"Outdoor aerials are the best choice as they can fully receive broadcast signals when they are facing the broadcasting station. β€˜Booster’ devices are not necessary for the aerial as they not only do nothing to help, but rather, they disrupt the reception of myFreeview services."

Do I need to remove the booster on my existing outdoor antenna?
Sometimes the channels are working and not working.
*
Try to remove the the booster. I'm using outdoor antenna (JP5E), and my home is about 30KM from nearest transmitter. Can get around 90%-93% signal strength for Channel 45 and 80%-85% for Channel 49. Signal quality always at 100%.

May I know what is this "channel" that you mentioned?
A little clueless about this.
*
Radio Frequency Channel. Each channel has their own frequency. Currently MYTV broadcast their signal in Channel 45 (666MHz) and 49 (698MHz) at Klang Valley.

Here the DTT frequency allocation for your better understanding. I found the picture from this thread also. Latest by February 2019.

Thank you, very helpful information.
I guess the channel does not matter if I use auto-search?
*
Yep, I guess so. But it's faster if you know which channel or frequency to search for. Currently only Channel 45 and 49 been using at Klang Valley. Not sure about other transmitter. But you can try search for each odd channel number ( 45, 47, 49, etc.)
