Seems like they don't want to migrate to MPEG4 yet.

Mediacorp has been running into serious technical issues at around 2:30am when I try to see what is available on TV because I am boring. Picture quality degrades to SD too on channels who does not close.
P/S : has been return to normal on 2:47am on all channels.

If anyone has some time to notice the testcard on NTV7 during closedown period on TV, one can notice that their testcard has serious quality degradation and has been sometimes resorted to use some pre captured testcard. (that can see heavy dot crawls)

Very likely only TVB dramas (Current drama : Speed of Life) will remain on NTV7 after rebrand, as it is very insane/weird to broadcast any Chinese content beyond
the March rebrand on NTV7 since it is already planned in advance. (My guess is prehaps to allow popular TVB drama that rate 18 can be aired and 8TV does not have a suitable slot for additional TVB dramas except on 7PM.) The identicators will very likely to be in place on rebranded NTV7, and I will upload some screenshot about identicators later for NTV7 based on the TVB drama "Speed of Life" on 5 March due to multiple identicators are used (3 different type of identicators before rebrand and after rebrand) during the duration of airing of this drama on NTV7.

I agree that Media Prima should just launched a new TV channel instead. In fact the current agreement done by Media Prima actually reduces choices for all viewers, not to mention the fact they mess up the schedules for NTV7, 8TV and TV9.

For Media Prima, maybe there are some possibility for another Chinese language channel due to massive rescheduling has been done for 8TV in these few months to just to accommodate new content. Some of them even went outside primetime. Korean dramas/content is still there for NTV7 but it is outside of primetime. It is even worst on TV9 when all contents are repeats on primetime except live sport/news. An English channel might be possible but it will be likely a combination of a kids channel on daytime and English content on primetime.

I think better as below and all update to HD as well.

- TV3 - Malay only
- NTV7 - English only
- TV9 - Indian only
- 8TV - Chinese only

Actually, it would be better if:-

TV3 : Mass Malay channel with occasional English, Chinese movies/shows.
NTV7 : Mass English channel with cartoons in the morning.
8TV : Mass Chinese (TVB/HK/Taiwan/China/Macau/Malaysian Chinese/Singaporean Chinese content) channel with Korean & Japanese content and some English content.
TV9 : Mass Indian channel (Tamil/Hindi/Telegu/Malayalam/Sikh content).
Drama Sangat : Mass Malay channel with airing of 2 different Chinese shows everyday at 6AM-8AM, 12PM-2PM, 7PM-9PM, 12AM-2AM and some occasional US/Canadian/UK/Austrailian/New Zealand/Singaporean (English) dramas.

Also it is recommended they launch 3 new channels:

- A 100% English channel (Also airing non-English European shows either dubbed or subtitles in English).
- A 100% Malay (Malaysia/Indonesia/Brunei/Singaporean Malay content) channel.
- A Chinese (TVB/HK/Taiwan/China/Macau/Malaysian Chinese/Singaporean Chinese content) channel with Korean and Japanese content.

FOR RTM,

RTM Sports/HD - Good they are showing lots of interesting sports events now.

They indeed are going to focus on TV3 and 8TV from 1/1/2019.
Both ntv7 and tv9 will have up to 15 hours of CJWOWSHOP daily starting from 1/1/2019.

Focus on tv3, 8tv & ntv7 🙏

Tanyalah Ustaz will move to TV3 with an early morning slot before MHI/Borak Kopitiam (which will reduced to 1.5 hrs to accommodate Tanyalah Ustaz and moved to an later slot), Buletin Pagi will also moved 30 minutes later. Mega Movie and Pearl Screen will merged into one slot on Friday to accommodate other programs. Feel Good Show, Pop TV, Pop Express are cancelled based on the lineup (for Feel Good Show, episodes had been reduced to 1.5hrs slot weekdays from the initial daily 2 hrs slot likely due to low ratings.) Global is retained on its usual slot on TV9. Kopitiam will move from NTV7 to TV9 with a new slot.
No major changes will be done for 8TV (only some slot changes on daytime)

For Primetime CJ WOW SHOP (8.30pm - 11pm) on NTV7, they might cancel that if there are enough backlash. Daytime CJ WOW SHOP will continue for now before they can do any channel changes in the future as it contribute a significant revenue for Media Prima.
