Is that any platforms allow us to see whether the broadcast stations are turned on?

QUOTE(9M-MAS @ Aug 14 2016, 10:05 PM) Some smart TV, particularly older ones imported into Malaysia, don't have that capability. Just look for DVB-T2 in the specifications before you buy, don't rely on just "Smart TV" My tv at home does support dvb-t2, but it's not really a smart tv. it doesnt have OS like Samsung or LG's smart tv. Anyway, I'll try it later. |

I'm quite curious why don't RTM broadcast the HD Olympic events through DTB-T2, even just on the Olympic Season. Since that this year they got the right to broadcast Olympic Games.

When you look at 8tv, the Korea dramas they are showing are relatively new for a free to air company

QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 15 2018, 11:47 PM) Singapore DTT channel quality got that terrible meh? I thought their average bitrate is quite high? I’m not expert to this, but if you want to compare, Singapore is like Vimeo, Malaysia is like YouTube. Is this footage are screenshot from Singapore DTT? Not from Toggle, right? |

QUOTE(shaun_kok @ Mar 16 2018, 01:35 AM) It was recorded via DTT set top box and the screenshot was done via laptop after the recording was done from my external hard disk. As that particular programme got rapid change of lightning effects as some scene within Chingay remain quite good or maybe the breakup issue already exists on their official record just like you said? (the pictures become great again during the advertising break.) Wanna ask something about this as well, will the image or video processor inside the TV affect the quality as well? Cz when I connect my laptop to TV with right configuration, the video or images look a little bit worse then when I play the video with usb connected to the TV. Sorry if I got off topic, cz you seems like an expert to me. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 20 2018, 12:48 AM) Media Prima is experiencing financial difficulties now.... Where got time to think about 4K/UHD content? They don’t earn enough money because they don’t have attractive local made content. The budget always spend on purchasing overseas contents and the money earn from ads revenue have to buy all those foreign contents. Where as South Korean free OTA channels like kbs,sbs and mbc, they produce quality contents which people watch, and whatever they earn, is for themselves but not purchasing foreign contents. Which is why they can control their content, equipment or anything that needed for 4K broadcasting. If you say a pay TV service like Astro wants to have 4K/UHD broadcast, then it is possible, only if they really want to. It is truly sad if a company upgrade their broadcast tech to full hd or 4K just to accommodate to the foreign contents |

QUOTE(shaun_kok @ Dec 3 2018, 01:07 AM) The tonton transmission for TV3 must had been stopped for a while. Enjoy full HD transmission on tonton (for both audio and video) that is better than DTT while it lasts. It was still max 720p/2128kbps when I checked on last Friday. The transmission for 8TV and CJ WOW SHOP was stopped for a while and when the official livestream resume later, the full HD option had gone. Only 240p/480p/720p option remains (which is their official stream quality selection) I think they are on dailymotion, which I remember some of the channels either tv3 or 8tv support up till 1080p |
