8TV will just air Chinese content only, judging to the rebrand to use just magneta coloured logo + "八度空間" (Chinese name for 8TV) on New Year's Day 2018. (They have since drop orange coloured logo completely.) 8TV is unlikely to air any contents in Malay since the entire lineup only airs Chinese/Korean content, which is catered to the Chinese only.
About the rebrand of NTV7, we can just wait and see. It will mean more English and Malay content and lesser Chinese content than it currently have now since after the rebrand, NTV7 will target modern Malaysia through its new content line-up rather than just target Malays. Only Doraemon and Crayon Shin Chan will be likely to remain, others not sure.

For RTM you can't complain/feedback via SKMM/MCMC as RTM is not under regulation of SKMM/MCMC. RTM is under KKMM (IIRC).

TV3 currently in GM mode, on all feeds. Picture quality is noticeably lower on HDTV, and more awfully, undesirable letterbox on tonton feeds.

Also happen on NTV7, 8TV, TV9 too. Happened on Unifi TV on all four channels too (as Tonton itself is impacted too, usually the "GM" switch dosen't impact Tonton).

It should support DVB-T2 without any problems, since it is quite insane to not including it for a latest 4K TV set, especially from a big brand like LG. The HbbTv feature is for MYTV services like Tonton (IIRC)

Similar test card has shown on 8TV and TV9 in the past (happened on 2016/2017, forgot the date already), but it was on 4:3/720x576 format.

Mediacorp has been running into serious technical issues at around 2:30am when I try to see what is available on TV because I am boring. Picture quality degrades to SD too on channels who does not close.
P/S : has been return to normal on 2:47am on all channels.

If anyone has some time to notice the testcard on NTV7 during closedown period on TV, one can notice that their testcard has serious quality degradation and has been sometimes resorted to use some pre captured testcard. (that can see heavy dot crawls)

But Media Prima has the option to purchase whole Multiplex bandwidth (around 34-35Mbps) if they wish to do so, so these channels can be broadcast alongside 4 HD channels. CJ WowShop & Drama Sangat are not mentioned might be because they are still in test mode.

Very likely yes for Media Prima. With the new bandwidth structure it is likely to expect more HDTV channels especially from Media Prima. It is a big cut if you consider the price (from RM 24 million* for a HDTV channel to just around RM 7.4 million* per channel per year for 3 year average based on MYTV information.) Since they have the option to rent whole multiplex for own use (encoding is still done for MYTV side), the price can be even lower.

30 channels from current operators and new entrants combined is unlikely for now. But it may be possible in future.

In fact it is not good at all and it should be 10Mbps+++ for an HD channel. However no one (especially commercial broadcasters) are willing to pay hefty fees. Mediacorp @ max around 7Mbps already gives a lot of breakup during heavy scenes. It was good when they were broadcasting at max 8-9.5Mbps. But since it is just a cost estimate, I just place 6Mbps, which is the average bandwidth Media Prima are likely to give for an HDTV channel. Statistic multiplexing will be used either, so when there is heavy scenes, the bandwidth can be taken from other channel which have quiet scenes.

Sorry for late reply. So thats mean that you could receive digital TV signals over your TV set but not MYTV decoder? You may need to call MYTV center for assistance.

Media Prima has start transmitting programme descriptions for most programmes for TV3, NTV7, 8TV and TV9 on myFreeview EPG. They had not able to transmit EPG due to their current EPG format cannot be used for MYTV operation although it could be used for Astro/HyppTV/Tonton. Another improvement done for them. Still hope that they can remove useless "current programme" shown during TV programmes completely. And have HDTV quality on all channels soon. (since the transmission fees on MYTV is much much lower nowadays)

In my opinion it is very wasteful to have Channel 106 in HD since the only content on that channel are all teleshopping programmes. Make Channel 106 in SDTV format instead. Channel 104 may be possible in HD however.

Useless program identicators expanded to NTV7 today. Now all 4 Media Prima channels has horrible useless identicators. Hope Media Prima can retire this ASAP since this serve NO purpose except annoy viewers due to complete EPG available on all platforms. (RTM TV1/RTM TV2 and TV Alhijrah too)

5.1 E-AC3 audio test again stopped on TV3 HD.
EPG from Media Prima messed up once again although they managed to produce a complete EPG with detailed information few days ago, which is not suprising at all consider the previous history of EPG messing. (no EPG is transmitted at all)

Definitely no due to different system/nature as the said box is DVB-S2 that can't be use to receive terrestrial channels. MYTV system uses DVB-T2/H.264 compression. A indoor/outdoor UHF antenna should be used for DTT reception.

Very likely only TVB dramas (Current drama : Speed of Life) will remain on NTV7 after rebrand, as it is very insane/weird to broadcast any Chinese content beyond
the March rebrand on NTV7 since it is already planned in advance. (My guess is prehaps to allow popular TVB drama that rate 18 can be aired and 8TV does not have a suitable slot for additional TVB dramas except on 7PM.) The identicators will very likely to be in place on rebranded NTV7, and I will upload some screenshot about identicators later for NTV7 based on the TVB drama "Speed of Life" on 5 March due to multiple identicators are used (3 different type of identicators before rebrand and after rebrand) during the duration of airing of this drama on NTV7.
