RM80+? Wah, looks like quite expensive  blink.gif
The SDR, is it like you use a computer software to make it receive and play DRM+ or DRM30 broadcasts?

Well, according to this website, DAB+ has been on trial since many years ago.
https://www.worlddab.org/countries/malaysia...rrent_situation
Yet, you don't see it announce it publicly. Who knows, if anyone has DAB+ radio, can receive it?
If DAB+ trials go unannounced, who knows they've started DRM+ test trials signals without public knowing it? Just my two cents  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

Should be cheaper now.....search around at shopee or lazada?
SDR = yes. https://wiki.opendigitalradio.org/DRM/DRM%2..._Radio_Mondiale List of SDR.

But....every time there is a technological trial........East Malaysia is totally ignored...... sad.gif
I went to Brunei border with my trusty laptop and USB stick just to test DVB-T1 and T2 back in the day. dry.gif

DAB is not going to happen in Malaysia.
Most radio listening is done in the car while commuting and the advertisers know that.

Either your reception or transmission tower. Relocate antenna to other position and check.

Maybe that time the haven't start digital TV broadcast yet? Brunei already shut down their analogue TV, and they've gone fully digital.

Woahhhhh.... That price tag is way expensive than I expected... I thought it's quite affordable to buy, even if it's from other countries.

Well yea... I also think that the adoption rate is not going anywhere... But since Malaysia is having trials on that, I'll try it out if I got the chance, provided I don't have to break my bank to buy too expensive (to me) equipment to receive it.

And it's on 200MHz+, so in terms of coverage and wall penetration, it's gonna be a difference compared to FM radio reception.

I'm also interested to see if Malaysia would try out DRM+ radio, especially if they try it on 47-68MHz band I. The coverage wise is expected to be better than standard 87.5-108MHz. Similar like digital TV, if they transmit at lower UHF frequency range (example <600MHz), coverage and indoor reception would be better than higher UHF frequencies >600MHz.

For hobby purposes, I wonder if there's any foreign DRM30 stations that transmits in shortwave, mediumwave (AM radio), or longwave, that can be received in Malaysia via DRM30.

Sorry. Off topic lol.....

Ironically, I received Brunei digital TV (in DVB-T before the country switched to DVB-T2) first for many years before MYTV transmitter (tower owned by TM) at Bukit Lambir, Miri active..... dry.gif

About the price tag, those prices are about right. sad.gif

If you really want to buy one small stereo DAB+ radio, then buy GTMEDIA DR-103B (color LCD version, the one at shopee link has only black/white lcd) ----> Reason, it is using common rechargeable 18650 lithium battery, the exact battery type very commonly used by those who vape electronic cigarette. Firmware for DR-103B can be updated too (hope software support can be maintained for few years). Plus, it has bluetooth function, can link to your car stereo if your car has bluetooth support. Standard USB charging port with USB Mini-B connector, can plug to your car USB port?

However.....if our beloved government suddenly pull an initial D drifting style around the gutter and select DRM+.........there goes your moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif
