Ohh thanks for sharing these info about DTV in Vietnam... Was pretty surprised that they have so many HD channels for free....
Just wondering, their channels that has 5.1 audio track, is it in Dolby Digital AC3, or Dolby Digital Plus E-AC3, or HE-AAC?

Btw, since Vietnam uses 700MHz and above, then 700MHz LTE is not possible in Vietnam then hmm.gif unless if they retune to other frequencies that is under 700MHz...

Hello, I checked my specs for my TV. It's noted as following,

Channel Coverage
Analogue: UHF/VHF/Cable, depending on your
country/area selection.

Does it mean it didn't support DVB-T2 Out of the box? Hence I do need a DVB-T2 top box right?

Thanks for any help biggrin.gif

If your TV's user manual did not mention anything about "digital TV", or "DVB-T2", that means your TV does not support digital TV feature.
You will need a DVB-T2 digital TV set-top-box to watch digital TV channels, which you can easily purchase it online.

No need to feel surprised. Because of monopoly and politics, many Malaysians would pay money on Astro to watch better quality content, or watch shows online (either legally or illegally), which makes Malaysian FTA TV channels dying, making the target audiences are towards the elderly, not for youths. Many people says Malaysian FTA TV channels are sucks for a reason.

If want to watch channels like TV3 HD, box should support 1080i and Dolby Digital Plus. If want access interactive (red button) features, box need to support HbbTV and be connected to Internet. For differences between cheap and expensive box, I will let other members with more experience with various different TV box to comment on this.

Astro tribe app in Thailand is the worst version.
There is no live tv channel like ohk, kplus, aniplus in there. They just carry homemade astro cook On Demand content(Ria & Prima)... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Check using VPN route to Thai.
