Can use old Astro dish as antenna ? Same direction ?

Astro dish is satellite not DVB T2 ( the fish bone antenna )

If you want to receive MYTV satellite signal, you’ll need to use their own box as the signal is encrypted

So finally a cheap MCMC / SIRIM certified decoder. I think local agent simply went to MCMC/SIRIM, got one of those China decoder models certified through the proper steps.

Wow, I wonder if the older version( Same model ( K8), just without the DTTV logo) is also MCMC certified

Btw it has PVR too, you'll need to provide your own pendrive

Hi, means astro subscribers can just ignore the free decoder given? Regardless of what type of astro subscription package? I just realised the 19 Aug notice and immediately rushed to connect my TV to the decoder. I noticed I have 2 cables that can fit into the "ANT IN" port and removing either of this cable from my existing device (do not know what is the correct term) to put into the free decoder will result in no image or blur image. So I didn't use the free decoder but afraid tomorrow I can't watch the TV ...

Yup, Astro/ unifi TV subscribers aren’t affected by this as Astro/UNIFI TV will take care of this for you.

If you are using analog TV then yes, you should be concerned as this will affect you and you’ll be required to switch to Digital TV by midnight( as of now) for central/ southern Malaysia

So apparently when I contacted Botato to ask about the MCMC certification for existing decoder, they said that existing decoder is not certified( same model: K8, without the DTTV logo), probably they changed something under the hood?

I believe we all know that only non-official digital TV STBs can do recording. biggrin.gif
Correct me if I'm wrong. Is there a SIRIM and MCMC approved DVB-T2 boxes that allow programme recording? If yes, do share with us which model is it, and where to buy...

I know CJ Wow Shop do sell the Greenpacket brand of DVB-T2 box, which is SIRIM and MCMC approved. But not sure if it allow user to record.
Anyone using that here, do share with us that info.

There is one on lazada

Well at least for the older design( same model with no MCMC logo on it )

The green packet one if not mistaken it’s the MYTV basic box, no WiFi, no PVR

What decoder are you using? Got signal quality but totally no signal strength seems like faulty decoder. Usually can't have quality if there is totally no signal.

B*tat* brand that i bought from lazada. I messaged them on lazada they keep saying maybe problem from antenna. Actually before this I've use this decoder with old antenna and it is working fine. But due to some renovations on my house, i put this decoder aside for about two months and because i already using iptv for living hall. This decoder i put it for my bedroom tv.

I had this issue when I plug in HDMI into my cheapo projector, when I plug it in, then I get no signal, when unplug, then got signal.... play around with the indoor antenna until the cable broke( aerial cable), no longer have this decoder with me anymore, already deployed it at my aunt’s house, no issue with that TV(sharp LCD TV)

Sorry guys, just a noob question, the cable to connect the decoder with the central aerial of my condo use male2male of female2male? And also the botato decoder is good enough compared to the official myfreeview decoder? The price different is quite huge, +100 so I'm not sure if it worth to just get the botato version.

if you are aiming just to watch DTV, then yes.... as long as you have the knowledge to tune the decoder

it even has PVR functionality( via USB) - older non MCMC certified design/model though

not sure about the aerial cable though
