Back to late (3rd quarter) 2013, they also use MUX NBT ch.50 (706 MHz) to do testing but this freq. not available during my scanning nowadays. You may try. May be the transmitting antenna (Tx) offset away from my receiving location (Rx) in Changlun or switched off but I can get all above 4 MUXes currently.
Happy Dxing.
ps. going there buy DVB-T2 stb again ah ? Take more pic. I enjoy your receiving apparatus pics.

Nope, still no luck. Am trying again today. Been in touch with the manufacturer of the TV stick, we've ruled out faulty stick for the time being as it works fine in KL with DVB-T.
Went to Songkhla and my USB stick got a couple of channels. Tried the found channels in Padang Besar, very poorly if at all received. I think it may have been a poor signal issue. I'm relieved it's not a faulty USB stick. I bought another STB by Samart (Strong Black), tried to do a scan using my hotel tv (Padang Besar) and a newly bought active antenna also - not much luck. No channels caught, though interestingly I noticed it stopped for a bit longer while scanning, at the frequencies you listed.
Main transmitter in Southern Thailand located at Songkhla (near Kuan Yin statue) on the top of hill. Padang Besar is located some distances away. Did you go to have a look at shop selling TV device or coffee shop and ask locals about the experience of DVB-T2 reception. Majority able to speak Hokkien, Teochew and Malay.
It stops a while and if the signal too weak, no info or data is received, thus it can't list down the channel name(s). Same as scanning satellite TV channel thru weak transponder received by dish.
The next phase also the final phase of DVB-T2 transmitters to be erected at deep southern Thailand: Pattani and Satun. Satun is very closed to Padang Besar and may benefit to the Malaysia - Thai border : Padang Besar viewers.

Great to know! Any idea when the Tx in Satun will be deployed? Out of interest, what kind of antenna do you use to receive Thai DTT in Changlun?
Outdoor High Gain UHF antenna used to receive TV3 back to year 1985~1999, similar to below but mine is Japan DX brand installed on roof top since 1985. After 1999, local TV (TV3, NTV7, TV8, TV9) reception via Astro so it is left unused on roof top. When Thai DVB-T2 Southern phase started, I re-rotate it to face Songkhla hill Tx, even outdoor UHF, the normal UHF antenna (shorter which are used by many locals) will capture no signal from Thailand too. It must have sufficient length to get the signal.
If you ever visit Muar, Johor (picture below), my antenna is similar to Muar local ppl receive Singapore TV using VHF / UHF antenna on their roof top but not as high as theirs like coconut tree.

Sarawak will only start in December. was on RTM news some time back. The rest will have to wait until further notice. You can voice your complaint on MYTV facebook page or maybe if you want report to MCMC
If complaining to MCMC or MYTV will work, the sun will rise from west. Just comparing to our nearest neighbour, Thailand, deploying regional Tx throughout their nationwide; reflecting how SUPER slow Malaysia is when a service to be utilised by public.

Very good actually. This SAMART Pro Strong is the only one of my three Thai STBs that could decode Dolby Audio enabling me to watch and hear Al Hijrah HD.
I might be going again soon to test and get more. Friends in Klang Valley are excited 😁
SAMART is pioneering in infocomm apparatus such as satellite TV apparatus (TVRO DVB-S2 receiver, dish), UHF antenna etc. Their reputation in this industry within Thai society is always there but their product is a bit expensive.
They may well be worth the price as I didn't see any smaller STB with Dolby Audio support than those by Samart. I am already targetting the Strong White STB next. 😁
Found this clip on youtube, is this your reception via SAMART, looks like the picture quality is perfect. how about ePG ?

682MHz and 698MHz have lost channels 3,7 and 8. In fact if you rescan the tuner will not stop at those frequencies despite the signal indicators indicating its presence.
666MHz is now up. Three HD and 7 SD channels, though with TV3 not present. Al Hijrah on one of the HDs have a black band across the screen reading This Is A Test Signal From DMBH MYTV
What is DMBH ?
is it Digital Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcast (DTMB) ?
[quote=9M-MAS,Dec 31 2015, 12:29 AM] Finally, managed to get Southern Thailand muxes of Thai digital TV using my USB TV stick here in Perlis :-) Can't wait for MYTV to begin
Finally you did it.
May I know which part of Perlis ~~~~
1. enable you capture these signals ? Please state location
2. near border ? Please state location
3. same frequency (Songkhla muxes) as I listed last time ? If no, please list the new freq. you received.
Purpose I am asking is to estimate how far their DVB-T2 frequency (Tx) can travel for that receiving location (Rx). Previously, Southern Thailand only served by DVB-T2 signal from Songkhla and proposed Tx tower in Satun to be erected on first quarter 2016, I would interested to know if these muxes are from Satun.
Satun is a small town at border between Perlis - Thailand, just kilometers away after crossing border.

Padang Besar. Yes, the same set of frequencies you listed last time. Signal not too strong, I had to find a position where signals would register. I was ussing the passive antenna that came with the TV stick
Thanks for reply, meaning, Satun / Padang Besar still get the muxes from Songkhla. Outdoor Yagi antenna may overcome weak reception.
I've tested 7 different models of Thai STBs so far, from 4 different manufacturers - Aconatic, UCI, Samart and Compro. Samart is the best so far, though I like UCI's interface the best.
Is your Philips TV (as seen in picture) c/w built-in DVB-T2 tuner ? Among Philips. Samsung, Sony and Panasonic LED TV, which are worth to buy in your opinion ?
