tried to tune myfreeview on my Sony Bravia & outdoor antenna today.. installed the antenna on the roof pointing directly towards Ulu Kali transmitter which ranged within 40km from my place... channel 49, 698hz.. Signal level 68%, Signal Quality 100%...

however i only managed to get RTM1, RTM2, RTM Sport, BES & TV Okey... it seems to be only MUX2 channels... I've manually scan channel 45, 666hz (MUX1) but the signal quality is zero%, signal level 45%.  what could be the reason?

How is your antenna look like? A picture please?
Type of wiring? Wire cable length?
Amplified or non-amplified?

Your decoder is a combo set which means you also can watch mytv with UHF antenna, indoor for near or outdoor for far from the tower. One downside of satellite dish is disconnection when bad weather, so you can use UHF antenna as backup if signal strength is strong

hi there, i got question regarding mytv first model box, after the the channel update few months back, i only get about 8 channel for tv and no radio stations anymore. already try to scan and using outside antenna still cannot get 20++ channels. anyway to solve this? thx

Changes already implemented
- NTV7 and TV9 has show less CJ WOW SHOP, due to rating issues (overall rating is 2% for TV9 and 1.4% for NTV7 on Q1 2019). The addition of CJ WOW SHOP linear channel on DTT may have caused them to reduce slots. Hope that it will mean the return of children content (such abandonment has caused their rating to be given free to Astro) These slots are filled by repeats, their own content and for TV9's case, relay from Makkah mosque. These cost almost nothing to them.
- TV9 have went 24 hours since Ramadan 2019. It make sense as there are no need to shut down analogue transmitter after analogue switchover. Negaraku still plays on 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. for "closedown" purposes for analogue TV. For TV3's case, it plays on after Nightline (before that around 2.30 a.m) and before Tanyalah Ustaz.

you never watch media prima before this? that 2 channel just comes back recently, before this, they shutdown of one cjwowshop 24 hours malay channel. ntv7 and tv9 have their channels reboot and replace with cjwowshop's 3 or 4 live show while maintaining the news section. shows shown in 8tv have been repeated in ntv7 and tv3 shows repeats, shown in tv9. did you know media prima VSS their old and new staff? some have gone to bernama and astro.

cjwowshop 24 hours malay is the old one, and the cjwowshop 24 hours chinese channel is the recently added one.

Frequency for manual tuning (Southern Johor area)
CH29/538MHz - Channel 5, Suria
CH31/554MHz - Channel 8, Vasantham
CH33/570MHz - CNA, Channel U
CH47/682MHz - MYTV MUX 1 (Media Prima channels, TV Alhijrah, BNC)
CH49/698MHz - MYTV MUX 2 (RTM TV and Radio)

CH47/682MHz and CH49/698MHz is harder to tune in some parts of Southern Johor due to interference from analogue signals from Batam. You may need to use CH30/546MHz and CH 52/722MHz instead of CH47/682MHz and CH49/698MHz if you live in northern Johor.

It is recommended to use outdoor UHF antenna perfectly aligned to Bukit Batok transmitter to perform tuning for Mediacorp channels. Indoor antenna will give variable results and can only be used within Johor Bahru area, and require careful antenna positioning. To ensure smooth reception, signal strength and quality should be higher than 70%.

late 2018, to early 2019 only, Malaysia starting to get dvb-t2 led tv's with built-in decoders. never heard plasma tv got decoders built-in, if got also is an older tech.

Plan to buy one of USB extension cable after I get my wage at 30th. I don't think I gonna need USB3.0 support.

ntv7, analog UHF channel not stabil now, all the rest of the analog is ok.

if one already has Astro or NJOI, there really isn't a reason to bother with myFreeview. All the channels are available in either of those two platforms anyway.

literally no one in my family or my in-laws are bothered with it, thanks to Astro.

where to buy the decoder

guys i am staying in double storey house and i don't feel like paying 200 for that mcmc approved box...is there any other cheaper alternative and will the existing rooftop antenna work?
