I think many early buyers/adopters will sakit hati now since the official RRP is RM 2099, which significantly lesser than those AP selling about 1-2 months ago.

Well , even with 2 years warranty , do u think early buyers really care ? I doubt it will 6 months with them

I believe there are those early buyers that planned to keep for long too. This is not to mention, there are a lot of rumouring by phone dealers about delayed launching & etc, just to convince more early buyers/adopters.

bro i doubt that early adopters like me will be sakit hati, that's the premium price to pay to own that phone earlier, to play with it the earliest moment, heck i would even buy it if it's without warranty. So when we buy it 1-2 months back, we couldn't care and give a damn about how much the phone is gonna costs, with however long warranty, or how much cheaper the ap phone is now.  biggrin.gif

That's only applicable to you and maybe some similar early adopters. But they are many other real buyers out there that is looking for a deal & good device that may serve them for some time back then, but being mis-informed about delayed launching, very high official RRP & etc., just as I mentioned previously.

yeah because u were saying early adopters will be sakit hati what, if you are talking about real buyers i'm sure they are willing to wait for the official release

I said buyers/adopters, in case you overlooked.

Many real buyers were mis-informed, even myself were mis-informed about late launching up to 2-3 months by the Samsung demo kiosk at Low Yat back in 3 weeks ago

There will always be 3 category for a buyer of a device

1 - Just buy as soon as it's available regardless of the price ... If u r think paying RM2.7k for a SGS2 is crazy , look at ipad2 .... 64G+3G was once RM4K+
2 - Wait for the official launch and buy
3 - Wait a few months b4 buying , hopefully the price will drop as there is always new models coming out . These buyers dont aim for the latest , anything least than 6 months is fine

Which category u r in , u should know . IF u r in category no.2 , there is no point pint pointing or feeling the pain for category 1 buyers coz no offence bro , its not your concern . Misinformed info is the way of life of Malaysian especially launching ... Take DHD for example , was initially from Maxis deal ,even got their website posted pre-order . Later on was taken down and finally , after 2 months ,was released under DIGI
*
Seriously how many belongs to category 1? More over, it was never my point feeling the pain for this category.

I would say the bigger number lies in the category where buyers being duped into believing the SGS2 will launching many months later, therefore they joined into buying overpriced AP SGS2. So please do not deny the feeling of pain for these buyers.

To be honest, who cares about those rich brats who can even take 0 warranty over 2 years official warranty at a much higher price just for being 3-4 weeks 'ahead' ? Even if you got money, this not the way to spend it anyway.

+1 +1

Yet to be users, contemplating to buy users, on the fence undecided buyers : based on my experience using several Androids ( see my siggy ), I unreservedly say this is the best and greatest smartphone I have ever used. I have even say at one point, I am even willing to pay RM3000 for it. So if you have the budget of RM2-2.5K, go ahead - you will not be disappointed. But if you are looking for a perfect phone, don't bother as there is none in Android yet. If you want a perfect phone, follow Steve Job as he said " the iphone 4 is the BEST smartphone in the WORLD . Period."

Regarding those early buyers, it is plain rude to insult/deride them. The money is theirs - no one has any right to judge whether they are making the right decisions on paying a premium for it. Just because you feel it is not worth or you feel these buyers are just being " dumb" , do remember their purchasing decision and views of pricing is different from you and many other people. Such early buyers are not stupid - they are fully aware they are paying a higher premium . They too know the actual prices will drop when launch. After 3 months of official availability, there will be another official price reduction. So knowing these and yet they are prepare to pay the premium, do give them benefit of doubt. Do not and never judge them based on your own beliefs. And many of such buyers will testify they will not feel the pain as they are already prepare for such

And to say they are rich is simply untrue. I have said before, different people have different priorities when come to spending their money. You can see 5 figure monthly senior managers still prefer taking their RM2 coffee at kopitiam while those who are earning RM2k+ or less ( even students  with no income ) splurging their money and  who will not hesitate to spend RM 10 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

I have been working close to 40 years and I can see how my staffs/managers spend their salary - many of them are broke every month cos they spend beyond what they earn, following the Jones /their neighbors and friends. I do not judge them as wrong practice.  If they feel happy being broke every month and get to enjoy their purchases , it is their goddamn right. Even in this thread, there are many users/potential users who are only students and is willing to spend so much on a phone. I know one of such student, who takes on parttime jobs/tuition just to earn the money for it. Of course, many students need not to do such as they have a willing reliable source who give them the money.

I forgotten... besides rich brats, there are die-hard foolhardy people too in this world. But seriously these are not my concern.

My concern since my earlier post is all about buyers duped into buying AP SGS2 under fake rumors about delayed launching & much higher launching prices than AP unit as well as HTC Sensation.

And here u are , in a forum for a yet-to-be-official release phone , reading on the early adaptors comments , point of view but instead of feeling grateful that these people provide u with an idea of whats the phone is going to b like , u mock them .  rclxms.gif

Thank you to early adopters for your kind review even though we have xdadevelopers, gsmarena, mobile-review & etc website around.

And by the way, why all the defensive mode? My mere reply is just concern about genuine buyers being duped to buy earlier. It was never about the early adopters, whether they are rich, die-hard fans, foolhardy or anything you can think of.

Guys, let's just draw a line under this. The early adopter arguments are getting really tedious.
