QUOTE(c010 @ Jun 23 2011, 01:07 AM) [Celcom.Axiata] good analysis It's not the hardware. Even with gigabytes of ram or thousands gigahertz proc, android will always lag n will never be as smooth as iOS. That is the magic of apple. Right from the 1st gen iPhone, the web browser and overall system is smooth, even though hardware is not so advanced. You are not entirely right nor wrong. i dont feel "lag" at all running Android on SGS2. Yes iPhone is smooth since first version, but bear in mind Android is a real multitasking OS and iOS is not. Therefore you are not actually comparing apple to apple. Imagine you have CCTV app installed and is running it, suddenly somebody call you, your CCTV connection will be disconnected. This will not happen on Android (Multitasking). Since iPhone first version till today, anybody notice the similarity? Yes, its the same boring iOS with little improvement (insignificant improvement that most of us actually dont really notice over past 3 years). [Celcom.Axiata] Furthermore, by using less hardware resources, iPhone and iPad battery life is always much much better compared to android devices. This is very subjective to individual usage. Yes no doubt that iPad has long battery life, but i dont think IP4 is any better than SGS2 in terms of battery. [Celcom.Axiata] What android wins is it's customize ability bcos of open source. It also has a large community of customized ROMs programmers. This is extremely sexy and appealing to geeks and nerds. Yes agree, you can place me in the same category. BB, WP7, iOS and Android i have it all [Celcom.Axiata] Instead of juz being a communication device, the smartphone is treated as a device to get high benchmark scores, different themes, increase battery life by bits, etc. => yes agreed While other normal users are simply enjoying the simplicity, smoothness and beauty of iPhone. => simple? try to share a photo to facebook, count the steps vs Android or WP7 Not to mention it's huge library of quality apps that android nerds can only envy jealously. huge library, but have you actually try all the apps in there? normal ppl will only use selected apps, hence whether is huge or not is not a big concern here and ppl like me never felt envy or jealous over it. |
