Just hang in there guys, after this week the discussion SHOULD steer back to USING the SGS2 rather then GETTING it lol.

Myself I can't wait to go and flash me some ROMs myself.

stop talking about plan and Get your phone first before posting in this thread!

there's no need for empathy to the early buyers.. the main thing we all here is to share the experience we have with this SGS2..

hmm this thread was more meaningful when only those 'early buyers' have the phone..

Yet to be users, contemplating to buy users, on the fence undecided buyers : based on my experience using several Androids ( see my siggy ), I unreservedly say this is the best and greatest smartphone I have ever used. I have even say at one point, I am even willing to pay RM3000 for it. So if you have the budget of RM2-2.5K, go ahead - you will not be disappointed. But if you are looking for a perfect phone, don't bother as there is none in Android yet. If you want a perfect phone, follow Steve Job as he said " the iphone 4 is the BEST smartphone in the WORLD . Period."

Regarding those early buyers, it is plain rude to insult/deride them. The money is theirs - no one has any right to judge whether they are making the right decisions on paying a premium for it. Just because you feel it is not worth or you feel these buyers are just being " dumb" , do remember their purchasing decision and views of pricing is different from you and many other people. Such early buyers are not stupid - they are fully aware they are paying a higher premium . They too know the actual prices will drop when launch. After 3 months of official availability, there will be another official price reduction. So knowing these and yet they are prepare to pay the premium, do give them benefit of doubt. Do not and never judge them based on your own beliefs. And many of such buyers will testify they will not feel the pain as they are already prepare for such

And to say they are rich is simply untrue. I have said before, different people have different priorities when come to spending their money. You can see 5 figure monthly senior managers still prefer taking their RM2 coffee at kopitiam while those who are earning RM2k+ or less ( even students with no income ) splurging their money and who will not hesitate to spend RM 10 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

I have been working close to 40 years and I can see how my staffs/managers spend their salary - many of them are broke every month cos they spend beyond what they earn, following the Jones /their neighbors and friends. I do not judge them as wrong practice. If they feel happy being broke every month and get to enjoy their purchases , it is their goddamn right. Even in this thread, there are many users/potential users who are only students and is willing to spend so much on a phone. I know one of such student, who takes on parttime jobs/tuition just to earn the money for it. Of course, many students need not to do such as they have a willing reliable source who give them the money.

I wonder why there are ppl prohibiting others asking way-to-get and plan for this phone? I thought in this "official" thread should be talking everything about this, including packages and location?

C'mon~ Those who asking are mostly the potential owner of SGS2, in other words, we may become SGS2 big family in the future. Those early birds who got the AP sets, you are welcomed to share your thoughts and experience of the phone. But, yet the phone isn't really officially launch in malaysia, how many forumers you expected to talk and discuss about the phone in this thread? We waited and expected, and now we looking forward to be the 1st to get the official phone, so we ask the questions here as we really get excited when news came out. I don't think this make any mistakes coz we willing to share the information so we can get it as fast as possible.

If one thread can only talk about rom, rooting, apps, then what for we assign this thread as official while things discussed are jz technical stuffs?

Just a 2 cents from me...

it's not prohibited to talk about way-to-get & plan for this phone.. but the things is, RRP, where to get, where to pre order, the plan everything has been discussed and talked over n over.

if u read them, u don't have to ask anything about how to get this phone anymore. yet some people come in and ask the same question for the 10000th time.

share information? ok i wanna share to u guys this forum named is lowyat.net. come on, i know this thread is fast growing thread, but do put some efforts, read the 1st post and at least read the last 10-15 pages before asking..

but u are right, this is official thread, and we can talk anything that is related to SGS II.

Well, do as I did back when I was the TS for the W810i thread and when I was active back in the Nokia 5800 thread. Every poor sod asking a redundant Q, just tell them 'Check Front Page!'.

Problem solved in one line, no repeated spoon feeding required. If they STILL don't get what they need, ONLY then do we help - or we introduce them to Uncle Google.

But if you guys thought this is bad, try hanging out in the iPhone subforum. I dunno maybe because the iPhone's simplicity attracts a larger sample of users, but try having threads locked EVERY FREAKING OTHER DAY due to piracy discussions.

And redundant Qs? A dime a dozen. People open ENTIRE THREADS to ask questions that ALREADY has stickied answers.

Not to bash them or to offend anyone - there are A LOT of good people in there really. It's just that if you think there are a lot of spoon feeders and lazy readers here, things aren't 1/10 as bad as over there lol.

I forgotten... besides rich brats, there are die-hard foolhardy people too in this world. But seriously these are not my concern.

My concern since my earlier post is all about buyers duped into buying AP SGS2 under fake rumors about delayed launching & much higher launching prices than AP unit as well as HTC Sensation.

I take it that most are going for the launch? Is Google involved, oh wait they've never been involved. I blame them because compared to the Fruit label, there are more accessories out there because they are involved first hand. Android however leaves the marketing to the manufacturers i.e. HTC etc.

Just some rant...while I wait for a TV ad from Samsung cool2.gif

Your best bet is to wait for official SME set sold in Samsung retail outlets or shops like Sen Heng.  Handphone stores will definitely charge you for cc usage.
There is a difference.  RM2040 with 3% surcharge is CREDIT.  RM2099 no surcharge is CASH.
Can't remember the exact figure, but a tech magazine reports that 3% (or is it 5%?) of consumers are willing buy anything at any price.
*
I'm referring 2 both using CC especially in a brand official store like Samsung , Canon , etc ..... They dont charge u the 3% yet u r buying at RRP
